Sweet Potato, Carrot, Apple, and Red Lentil Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2013
Delicious! A wonderful, hearty mixture of sweet and savory that's just perfect for cold weather. I topped it with sour cream and it was wonderful. The only thing I didn't do was puree it (I thought it would take too long and I was ready for dinner!), but I think it would taste wonderful if you did.

Caramel Nougat Cake V

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2010
Please note: For the frosting to come out right, you need to add 1 tbl of milk. I tried making the frosting twice, throwing out the first attempt because it looked awful, very lumpy and the butter was leaking out. The second time I figured something must be off in the recipe. All it took was a splash of milk for the frosting to smooth out and it turned out perfectly. Overall, the cake is wonderful. The taste is much subtler than what I was expecting, and isn't too sweet. The frosting really gives it the candy taste. I made cupcakes out of this recipe, cooking them for 20 minutes, and they turned out beautifully! Yielded 4 dozen cupcakes and they were gone in a flash. Will definitely make again.

Easy Beer Bread Mix

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2010
Excellent recipe! Made it with Guinness for St Patrick's day, which made the bread have a rather strong after taste that I'm not used to in my bear bread (I have only had Shiner Bock beer bread before), but it was still very tasty, especially the buttery crust. Everyone loved it!

Guinness® and Chocolate Cheesecake

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2010
This cheesecake was amazing! It was smooth, very silky, and was gone in a flash! Very rich chocolate flavour with just the slightest hint of the beer that was loved by beer drinkers and non-beer drinkers like myself. I had no trouble with the recipe and it turned out beautifully (though my crust did fall apart while serving, but that probably was due to the fact I used Oreo cookies instead of just plain chocolate cookies - which I couldn't find). I did have a lot of filling left over after filling my pie tin, but I had enough cookies left over so I could make a bunch of miny cheesecakes in a muffin pan. Turned out wonderfully! I will definitely be making this into a St Patrick's Day tradition!

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough + Cupcake = The BEST Cupcake. Ever.

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2010
Excellent recipe! I used boxed Devil's Food and topped with buttercream icing and it was very rich and moist. However, make sure to watch the cooking time. The first batch looked undercooked at 20 minutes, but I went ahead and pulled them out and let them sit. I was glad I did, they settled almost perfectly. The second batch I baked for only 15 minutes and they turned out even better. I can't wait to make these again, they are so very good.
