Quick Cheese Biscuits

I doubled this and added extra seasoning. Fresh garlic would be a bonus - I plan to try that next. Plus I did grease my cookie sheet, that was a must. Great all around savory biscuit. Thanks!!

Very good! Everyone has loved this one. Rolling the PB balls took awhile, so turn some good music on while you work. I came out with 43 buckeye balls myself, a little more than I needed. Also, I "cheated" and used the microwave to melt the chocolate so I needed less shortening. However, as a holiday gift or treat this one is a keeper. Thanks!!

Jay's Signature Pizza Crust

Great crust! I needed 1/3 c. more flour than called for. Also, if you're using lots and lots of toppings, a pre-bake might be a good idea. Everyone loved this one and it was very easy.

Pumpkin Bars I

Turned out as a cake for me, but I used smaller baking dishes. I bet if I had used larger dishes it would've been "thinner" after baking and would've been more bar like. A huge hit in my house, we actually were happy it came out cake like. Very good!!

Pumpkin Bar Icing

Very good on Pumpkin Bars I from this site. I used a 8 oz package but only doubled the other parts so it was a bit cheesier, which went over well in my house. Also added some cinnamon and nutmeg - just eyeballed it and tasted it. Very good!!

Peach Cobbler II

I used 8 mostly smallish fresh fron the tree peaches, cut the water to 1 cup, baked for 1 hour and left the rest as listed. I was very nervous because I was taking this dish to a family dinner. My mother in law and her mother make a wonderful peach cobbler. This was a last minute thing and this was all I had to take. So.... Everyone really liked it. However, the peaches tasted more like apples. Most likely the cinnamon helped this idea along. We dubbed it the "peach haters peach cobbler". It went over quite well, but not what a expected. Still it will most likely show up at my house again. Not bad.

Scottish Shortbread II

This came out great - just don't forget to prick it!! I did & got a very cake like finish, which worked out great for what I was doing (baked apple topping). I can't wait to try it again, this time remembering to prick the dough. The taste was wonderful!

Bread Pudding II

This was so quick and easy. It came out great!! We used 1/2 c. of white sugar and 1/2 c. of brown sugar and didn't use rasins (we didn't have any) and it was wonderful!

Easy Southern Biscuits

I had to sub honey for white sugar (mom's on a health kick) so it came out a bit heavy but very very good. I think next time I'll try more milk or sub buttermilk. I made them as drop biscuits and they formed up very nice. Great recipie. What a suprise - you'd never guess there was mayo inside.

Bread Machine Challah I

It turned out light & chewy. I used kosher salt so it's a bit saltier than I expected. Next time I'll try table salt or less kosher salt. The smell was wonderful while it baked & everyone in my house gathered around to try it when it came out. I think this is going to become a regular for the bread machine.

Sausage Gravy III

Quite good, but I agree with the other advice - scale down the milk or add starch. I reduced the recipie for 1 person (can you believe I'm the only one in my house who likes biscuits and gravy?!?) & added a smidge of starch. It made a great breakfast!!

Beef Stroganoff II

I thought I'd be slick & purchase stew beef at a much cheaper price for my meat. It was ok, but kind of tough. Everything else was great. My family loved it - it was a real treat for us. And so easy to make! I'll be making this often now.

Cashew Chicken I

This was great. I just finished eating it with my mother and we both adored it. I know this will fast become a regular meal in our house. It was so easy to prepare and took no time at all. We had it with mashed potatoes - what a great combination. I would recommend this to anyone and I will be sharing it with all my friends. The only (very minor) downside was that the cashews were a bit expensive. We're going to try it with peanuts next time.
