Country Apple Dumplings

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2011
This is insanely good! I cut back by using one can of crescent rolls, 1/2 cup butter, 1/2 cup "sugar in the raw", 1/2 tsp cinnamon, and maybe a 1/4 cup of diet ginger ale (instead of mountain dew). Served it with vanilla ice cream….yummmmmm!

Slow-Cooked Chili

Reviewed: Jul. 14, 2010
I made this 3 days ago and I'm still eating it...it makes a LOT of chili. It tastes even better as the days go by. The only changes I made to the recipe were to add an extra tablespoon of chili powder, and a box of frozen corn the last hour. Excellent recipe!

My whole family loves this recipe. My picky husband uses leftovers on his Boboli pizzas!

Best Tuna Casserole

Reviewed: Jul. 30, 2009
Really good base recipe - I made the following alterations: added a can of baby shrimp, added a can of cheddar cheese soup, added a splash of milk, skipped the potato chips, and I used shell pasta rather than egg noodles. Delish...I'm hoping my 3 year old will try it for lunch today!

Barbara, thank you so much for this great recipe. My son NEVER eats salad, but he really loves your salad recipe (pineapple and grapes - great idea!)...keep up the good work and publish more recipes for us to try!

Excellent and super easy. I added too much red crushed pepper, but I love spicy food anyway. Thanks for a great recipe!

This is so fabulous. I don't like mushrooms so I substituted garlic and capers. It was really great. Will definitely make this again and again!

Delicious, except for the the fact that I burned it on the stove before baking it. I'll definitely try making it again.

Monterey Spaghetti

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2002
We made this last night and I'm sad to say that we didn't like it at all. I thought it was totally lacking flavor, which was surprising considering all of the seemingly great ingredients. I think adding a powerful cheese (Blue cheese, Gruyere, sharp cheddar) would give it the "punch" it needs.

Slow Cooker Beef Stroganoff I

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2002
This is a great recipe and so easy to make! I've made it several times, following the instructions to the letter, and it has always been a big hit with my family. Most recently, I took advice from another reviewer and used Marsala wine instead of water....what a great flavor! I also add 1/2 a jar of capers, for a little extra zing. LOVE this recipe, and will continue making it for years to come.

Tater Tot Bake

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2002
This was really good and easy to make, but the tater tots didn't cook thoroughly. I will definitely make it again, but next time I might double the mushroom soup/milk layer to make sure the taters are completely coated.

Absolutely The Best Shrimp Scampi

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2001
We tried this with shrimp and it was great, but expensive. To economize, one night we substituted chicken and now it's my all time favorite food. I love it so much my boyfriend makes it at least once a week. I've used it in salads, on angel hair, and a la carte. Everyone should try this recipe!
