Hot Artichoke and Spinach Dip II

Reviewed: May 9, 2010
Yum! I have made this 3 or 4 times now, and it is delicious. Everyone always loves it. I have yet to to be able to find Romano cheese, but that might just be me or where I live. Does anyone know? It would be nice to try it. I usually just use extra parmesan and mozzerella (I put the mozzarella into the dip, not on top). I've tried making this with fresh and frozen spinach, and both are equally good. Thanks so much for a recipe that I will use over and over!

The Best Meatballs You'll Ever Have

Reviewed: May 9, 2010
These were really good. It was my first time making meatballs and it was pretty easy, besides grinding the croutons (because I wanted them really fine). They looked good when they came out, and I wish I would of remembered to take a picture. The only thing that I wish I would of done better is to have chopped the onions smaller, because there were chunks in the meatballs, but that was my fault. Thanks!

Clone of a Cinnabon

Reviewed: May 9, 2010
I'm rating this recipe for what it would have been, had I actually followed it. Not to say that mine weren't good, but i'm surprised they even worked at all. I decided to make these on a whim for mothers day, because my mom was out of town and it would surprise her when she got back. I started making it, only to realize that there was no way I was going to have time, since I had to work at 4 and didn't start making these until 1:30. So, I took the dough out of the bread machine before it was done rising, didn't wait the 10 minutes to let it rise after taking it out, didn't wait 30 minutes after rolling them to let them rise, and just popped them in the oven. Needless to say, they were nowhere near done after 15 minutes. So I put them in for another 15 and still, not done. By that time I had to leave and I left a note for my mom saying to put them in for 10 minutes when she got home to let them finish baking. She did this, and somehow, they were STILL good. I also used all purpose flour and regular quick rise yeast. I'm baffled at how well these worked. I thought I would definitely have to throw the whole batch out. Next time though, I will definitely stick to the recipe.

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: May 13, 2010
These are delicious. Probably the best cookie i've ever made. And they look just as good as they taste. The only changes I made were using margerine instead of butter (thats what I had on hand) and I only used a little over one cup of chocolate chips. I DID NOT refridgerate the batter. Make sure that you make the cookie the size that the recipe states, even though they are huge. I only fit six on a pan. Also, make sure that you let them cool on the pans. This is the only recipe I'll use from now on!

Fluffy Pancakes

Reviewed: May 14, 2010
Sooo good! I made these for my neice and nephew this morning, and they devoured them. Then, my mom, who usually isn't the biggest fan of pancakes, came home and tried a bite, and ended up eating three! Then she asked me to print off the recipe (I usually just bring my laptop up to the kitchen). I added chocolate chips, and they were soo yummy. Thanks so much! I will not be using any boxed brands of pancakes anymore, they simply don't come close to these!

Ranch Dressing II

Reviewed: May 27, 2010
I've made this twice now, once as is, and once with a few changes. The first time, I thought it was good, but pretty bland. The second time I made it I added more then double the garlic powder, a little more onion powder, and a little extra dill. Oh, and both times I made it I used 1/2 cup mayo, 1/2 cup sour cream and 1/2 cup buttermilk.

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: May 27, 2010
This was SOOOO good. I made it for a family dinner and everybody raved about it. I got asked for the recipe from 3 separate people. I'm not a very experienced cook, and this was the first pie I had ever made. This was such a success. Thank you so much!

Nectarine Sunshine Smoothie

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2010
Sarah-May, this is delicious! I had seen this on the RE a while back and was grocery shopping yesterday and saw some nectarines on sale, and I thought I would try it. Unfortunately I didn't have any oranges, so I used a mango instead, which is really good! I have to admit, I didn't really think I would like this, because I thought it would be too sour for me, but it wasn't! I just slurped down my second glass in 10 minutes. Yum!

No-Sugar-Added Blueberry and Banana Wheat Muffins

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2010
I'll admit, I was a bit wary of making these because of all the reviews saying that their was no flavor. Based on my (small) changes, I rate it five stars. I think the flavor is great, I really don't miss the sugar at all, and the texture is really good too. I used apple sauce instead of the oil, subbed 1/4 cup of the flour for flaxseed meal, and added half a teaspoon of vanilla. I also halfed the recipe, so the measurements are based on that.

Butter Cream Frosting I

This was so good! Really creamy, and lots of flavor. I used it on plain white cupcakes, and they were delicious. I could have eaten it by the spoon!

Dark Chocolate Cake I

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2011
Some reviewers found this dry, but mine turned out really moist. I used half coffee and half plain boiled water, because I was afraid the taste would be too strong for kids if I used two whole cups of coffee. This was perfect. I used a dark chocolate glaze on top, and it was so delicious!

Black Magic Cake

Reviewed: May 26, 2011
This was REALLY good. It will definitely be my go to chocolate cake from now on. It was very moist, the texture was great, and so chocolatey!! Mine did not sink in the middle. I used regular instant coffee and let it cool a bit before adding and my own made buttermilk (1 cup milk, 1 TBSP white vinegar). I used a 13 x 9 glass pan and baked it for just over 40 minutes. I used a cream cheese frosting - although whipped cream with cherries would be delicious. This is perfection!!

Peach Muffins

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2011
I really liked these. They were very moist, and good flavor. When I put them into the baking cups, I put in half of the batter, then a teaspoon of raspberry jam, then the other half of the batter. This made them so delicious! I did find the consistency very cakey and thick, which wasn't my favorite, but they were still good! They also kept well.. they were left in a container on the counter for about four days, but could have lasted longer.

MySweetCreations Peanut Butter Cookie Pie

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2011
YUM. This was sooo good! I made this for Father's Day, but forgot to review, so here it is! I followed the recipe exactly, using homemade whipped cream, except that I didn't end up putting chocolate and caramel sauce on top, because it already had so many peanut butter cups (and crushed oreos!) on top. I also used a store bought box of oreo pie crust, which worked fine. Everyone loved this, even me, and I don't even like peanut butter (I know, kill me..) I will make this again! Thanks!

Homemade Black Bean Veggie Burgers

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2011
I thought these were pretty good! I didn't have onion, but I ended up putting corn in (makes them prettier, and good addition taste-wise too). I used soda cracker crumbs instead of breadcrumbs, just because that is what I had on hand. I also ended up using about 2 tsp of hot sauce instead of 1, but I like things spicy. I thought the taste was perfect (spicy - but not overly). I made sure to dry my beans as much as possible after rinsing! With these (EASY and not major) changes, I had no trouble shaping them together. But I don't imagine that they made too much of a difference. I made 8 smaller patties, just for personal preference, and I put olive oil on my hands before shaping for ease. I didn't find them to be mushy or dry, like other reviewers mentioned.. just crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. I will freeze and reheat the ones that are leftover!
