I'm a bit better than this!!
About this Cook
I'm just a working Mom that loves to cook. Be it for a school party, family or friends! My biggest problem is I also eat my cooking! Working Grave shift gives me time to cook wild things during the day!
My favorite things to cook
That would have to be my Native New Mexican dishes! I read some recipes here for some native New Mexican foods and I cringe! They are so incorrect!
My cooking triumphs
Anything that my boys enjoy. Cooking for 2 fast growing boys & a husband. if it leaves their plates empty it's a triumph!!
My cooking tragedies
Was baking Pecan pies, shortly after my Father-inlaw passed on, and while taking one out of the oven it fell face down. I was promptly reminded that they were his favorite. I guess he wanted 1?

Creamy Chicken and Wild Rice Soup
This was super tasty!!! The only change I made was adding 1 1/2 C of chopped New Mexico roasted green chile, and 1 t of garlic powder. My Husband loved it, and is looking forward to when I make it again. I did thin it out a bit with milk, since it thickened considerably by the time I put the leftovers in the fridge. This is a keeper! Thank you Stephanie G.

Dumplings
Excellent! Excellent! I mix it up from time to time. From adding some basil, rosemary, or marjoram! I have even tossed these in the crock pot, and let them cook about 45 min before serving! Beautiful little pillows!! Thanks for sharing Carol!

Butternut Squash Bisque
I wasn't impressed. Followed the recipe to a T. I even had the Hubby help cut the squash. :-) It needed something still. I even added some cinnamon along with the nutmeg. I shall just keep on looking for that perfect butternut soup recipe. I shared with my Mom, who agreed that it needed something more. Thanks anyway Phonelady55
