Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2013
this is the best, but i too made a few additions. a little salt to the batter, along with cinnamon, pecans, and vanilla. i also made the sugar and cinnamon crust a few people mentioned. it did not last the day in my house!!

Mac and Cheese II

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2013
I make this recipe once a week since i found it. Its awesome, and so easy to make. It was very close to my mothers mac and cheese, so I went ahead, and added small cubes of muenster cheese, and a can of drained whole tomato squashed up, and topped it off with cubed swiss and bread crumbs. tastes like childhood!!!

Blueberry Muffins I

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2012
i have had such a craving for blueberry muffins, and these hit the spot! super easy to make, and super tasty! i took everyones advise and left out the lemon zest, added a little more sugar, and topped with sugar and cinnamon. the only thing i would have to add, is double the recipe, they go fast!!!

Shrimp Quinoa

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2012
this is the first time i've eaten quinoa. this recipe has turned me into a big fan!! the ingredients complement each other, like the earthy mushrooms, and the great flavor of asparagus! no ingredient overpowers any of the others. i may add a little more lemon next time. i cant wait to have the leftovers tom'w!!

Belle's Hamburger Buns

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2012
the first try, i made these with whole wheat flour, epic fail!! second time, i dont think they rose enough, so next time i will bloom the yeast in the wet ingredients, and then add the flour. they were dense, and the crust was crunchy. someone said they topped them off with steak seasoning great idea! next time, i will try the less flour suggestion and see which i like better. and i will also cut it down the 8 buns, we like a BIG burger here. but these turned out very good!

Pecan Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2011
like many others have said, this recipe is problematic. the first one i made was a disaster, burnt to a crisp, and way too much filling. however the taste of the filling was good. so i thought i would make two pies instead of one. and instead of mixing the filling and pecans together, i arranged the nuts on top of the filling, put it in the oven and prayed!! they are almost ready now, and looking good. my only regret was not timing it. but i would say about 30 min + you will know when its done. perhaps the recipe was meant for a deep dish??? in which case i would have lined the crust edge with foil to help keep it from burning. but the taste is there, excellent, you just have to fool around with it a little bit. ok, so the second time didnt work out either. there was not enough filling for two pies. next time i am going deep dish.

Shrimp Bisque II

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2011
this was super easy to make, and adjust to my needs. i always cook with a pinch of this and a dab of that. so long as you have a solid base this soup can easily be adjusted up or down. i used cooking sherry in place of the brandy, and chicken and veg stock in place of the fish stock. i also started cooking the shells and onions first, it just made sense to start there as it was the most labor intensive part of this dish. i am sitting in front of a hot bowl of this right now, and i have to go, because it is so good!! I WANNA EAT!!!

Roast Pork Paprikash

Reviewed: May 8, 2011
this recipe was super simple to make! of course the roast took much longer in my oven where nothing ever cooks on time! LOL the gravy was good, but i like meatier gravy. this tasted like the bell pepper. i had alot of gravy left over, so i think it will reappear on my table as pepper steak tom'w.

Chicken Enchiladas I

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2011
i followed patricks advice, except i still added the sour cream, and chili powder. it came out real nice, but next time i will leave out the chili powder. it was just a tad too spicy. i also think the filling needs some more cheese, but i love cheese, so add to your own taste. simple to make, and the filling is delicious, and good enough to stand on its own !

Herbed Beef Rib Roast

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2011
i made this for easter dinner. along with the broth, a put carrots, celery, leaks, and onion in the pan. i also added a full quart of beef broth a little at a time while cooking. as for the cook time, it was really hit and miss, i had to keep checking the temp of the meat to know when to take it out. other than that, it was really good!! we had plenty of gravy, and it was a big hit with the family! i will think twice about going out to eat when i am craving a good rib roast!!
