After serving 20 years in the military, I now have time to truly enjoy cooking and trying new recipes! I've always been a health nut and after my husband's recent heart attack (he's recovering nicely)..I've decided to cook all our meals "Heart Healthy", low calories, less frying, no junk or fast food with moderate exercise has improved both our lives greatly!
My favorite things to cook
Almost anything. I'm always willing and wanting to try new and different foods of ethnic groups and backgrounds.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Having family and friends over for a home cooked meal during the holidays, celebrations etc. I try to change up as much as possible. Such as spiral ham for Christmas, Pork roast for New Years, Lamb for Easter and many others...
My cooking triumphs
Actually following the recipes as they are written and learning to sample different spices, oils and be more openedminded...I have surprised myself! Tweeting some things and having the meal turn out great!
My cooking tragedies
Not using a timer to handle proper cooking times that resulted in burnt dishes and having to start over.
