Aunt Mary's Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 10, 2012
I'm only giving this recipe 3 stars. It's not that it was bad at all. It had a pleasant taste to it. However, the batter was rather watery. I wanted to use this cake as a base to a black forest cake so I wanted layers, obviously. I only have springform pans because they are easiest to work with! Lets just say I had to place a big sheet of aluminum foil on my bottom rack ;) lol so beware!!! But like I said, it just came out of the oven and I nibbled what dripped off to tast with my own chocolate buttercream frosting and is DID taste delish. Oh, and under no circumstances was I able to use the spoiled milk. I had it all ready in my measuring cup and it went down the drain ;) I used regular no fat milk. Which very well could have been my problem, but I did add an extra 1/3 cup of flour before placing in prepared pans. Hmm... now I'm not sure what it is! Oh well, I will make this again but I willll be making a few moree changes!! =)

Deep Chocolate Raspberry Cake

Reviewed: May 13, 2012
I'm only giving this recipe 2 stars. I made a lot of different changes myself to this recipe. It wasn't really completely bad, it just wasn't what I was looking for. First off, I saw some people complaining about the cake batter being thick... well, yes... I mean, you're working with chocolate ;) lol... I won't make the cake batter again though. The cake itself was tasty, but there was a weird hard shell around it when it cooled. If you like to decorate your cakes like I do, then this isn't the cake you want. The filling was just way to sweetly tart to care for. And chocolate makes raspberries more tart. I only used semi sweet choc, dont care for anything else! The icing was way too drippy to spread. After having it in the fridge for about an hour it was still gooey, so I made it into a chocolate buttercream... delish, probably the best part of the cake!! Well, besides my decoration ;) hahaa.. on that note... I probably won't make this cake again, just the frosting part.. but cootos to all of those that enjoyed it. My mom and sister loved it and it was for them, for mothers day today. I guess it was a success in that sense!!! Thanks for the recipe!

This was the best bruschetta I have tasted. It's perfect and super easy!! I didnt have any "fresh" ingredients on hang, so I used dried seasoning and it was still verryy tasty!! This is a keeper!

Moo Goo Gai Pan

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2011
I made this for dinner last night and it was VERY good! I have no complaints!! I saw my brother in law and father putting seasoning on it and couldnt figure out why! I am a young chef (18!) and i have no clue what bamboo shoots are!! I didnt use broccoli either. Instead i used sliced carrots, canned mushrooms, water chestnuts, bean sprouts(yum!!), celery and onions cut in quarters, like a restaurant. I also didnt use oyster sauce, but didnt notice the difference!! This was YumMyYY!!!!! =)

Angel Food Cake III

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2011
I just made this cake for my sisters birthday. I followed the recipe exactly and was scared about how it would turn out because a lot of people were saying it didnt work out. However, i gave this cake 5 stars. It was amazing, light and fluffy and everybody enjoyed it!! Thats definately a plus!! I would make this again in a heartbeat. Mixing the eggwhites is everything. You dont want to over-mix them, because that will make a much flatter cake!!

Creamy Rice Pudding

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2010
I made this last night and it was delicious. Definately better than Kozy Shack!! Even if you arent a raisin fan like me, you should add them... it gives it the perfect sweetness. I also added a little bit of cinnamon to it!
