New Year Black Eyed Peas

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2010
I cut the water back to 2 cups and the chicken stock back to 4 cups. 10 cups less liquid than the recipe calls for! But it is delicious and my 10 year old even likes it. I also added a ham steak all cubed up, and some Cajun seasoning. Two extra pepperoncini. Will definitely be making this one again.

Chayote Squash Side Dish

Edible, but not well liked in my house. Have tried it both ways - with vinegar and with lime. Neither one was very good.

Wheat Crackers

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2010
I used olive oil instead of veg. oil, and chicken stock instead of water. Sprinkled salt, country herb seasoning from Aldi's, cracked pepper, and seeds on top and rolled them in while on the cookie sheets. Got three sheets out of the recipe, one sheet gets flax seeds, one sesame seeds, and one celery seeds.
