Biscotti

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2003
My husband said, "wow! tastes just like biscotti!" I used almond extract instead of anise because that is what I had on hand. Next time I will try anise and maybe add some almonds or dip it in chocolate. I had to use more flour than the recipe called for - it was very sticky dough. Yum!

Strawberry Trifle

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2003
Yummy! I took it to a Memorial Day BBQ and it was gone. I probably could have used another bag of strawberries - I think I used more than half on the first layer. Very good!

Kabob Marinade

Reviewed: Aug. 8, 2004
This was soooo good. I followed the recipe exactly and marinated chicken already cut for kabobs for about 2 hours. yum yum! It was so moist and had so much flavor. I will use this marinade again - thanks!

Restaurant Style Egg Drop Soup

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2004
Very good soup! My three year old loved it! I followed the advice someone posted about adding cornstarch first - then eggs. I also added some diced tofu. I enjoyed this recipe.

Kid's Favorite Meatballs

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2004
My husband and kids loved this meal! I put onions IN the meatballs, and didn't have the right soups, so I used cream of chicken and a little tomato sauce. Also, I went ahead and covered it for a little while. I feel like it cooks faster that way. I will make this again.

Almost No Fat Banana Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2002
Really good! I added some walnuts, vanilla and chocolate pieces. My whole family loved this recipe and I will definitely make it again. *note: I made it over and over, and then tried it with Splenda. I don't know if that was what went wrong or if it was something else, but it didn't rise - so was flat and dense, and was a terrible texture.

Turkey Pot Pie I

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2001
A delicious recipe for leftover turkey. I didn't feel like making another pie crust, so I greased the bottom of my pan and used leftover stuffing as a topping. It was great! My child and husband loved it!

Cheesy Green Bean Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2002
This was a good recipe. I ended up not using the Velveeta at all, and it was still very cheesy. I also added water chestnuts and sliced almonds in the middle on top of the first layer of sauce, and almonds on the top with the onions. We like a little crunch.

Orange Juice Chicken

Reviewed: May 19, 2004
This was a good, different way to bake chicken. I used a combination of chicken and pork (what I had on hand) and my husband said he liked the pork better while I liked it with chicken. The gravy was good - sweet. We put it on our potatoes and the kids ate it up! If I tried this recipe again I would probably bake the potatoes in the same dish. I did use garlic salt to offset the sweetness.

Good - I really like the gravy, and it was very easy to make. I will make this again because it was so easy - maybe with chicken next time.

Bacon Cheeseburger Upside Down Pizza

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2004
This was good. I did not use bacon, I did use olive oil, and I only had one tomato, so I added about 3/4 cup diced canned. I liked it - so did my husband. My 3 year old didn't hardly try it - she doesn't like "matoes" - sigh. It wasn't thin as some people mentioned - seemed just right for the size pan used.

A yummy cookie! I think I put too much flour in - my cookies were a little too cakey. Everyone loved them though!

Macadamia Raspberry White Chocolate Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2003
These were good - I didn't add any nuts, but they turned out great anyway. They were a bit green, but we think that was cool. I love the hint of rasberry.

Portuguese Cornbread

Reviewed: May 7, 2002
We were looking for a recipie for Broa and were so glad to find one. It turned out pretty good, but it doesn't keep very well. My husband was used to broa looking darker although it does taste similar to what he remembers. He thinks you need a special oven for the darker color.
