Grinch Kabobs

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2014
Super cute and easy to make. I made it exactly as the recipe said. It's a fun (and cheaper) twist to the plain old fruit tray you see at Christmas parties. Our guests loved them!

Blue Cheese Beef Tenderloin

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2014
I made this using Jack Daniel's Honey Teriyaki marinade (already made from the grocer's). Everyone loved it. I would probably add more blue cheese to the sauce the next time I make this, but that's just my preference. Thanks for sharing this recipe!

Ruth's Grandma's Pie Crust

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2014
I used this crust recipe with Grandma Ople's Apple Pie. It was fantastic! I used butter-flavored shortening as other reviewers suggested, and it was PERFECT.

Lobster Colorado

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2014
OMgosh...this was fabulous. I made this as written (minus the bacon), and it turned out fantastic. Even the picky 11 year old gobbled it up. Will definitely make this again.

Southern Fried Chicken Livers

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2013
I hadn't eaten chicken livers in YEARS. I stumbled upon this recipe and decided to try it. It took me back to how my mom used to make them. They were absolutely fantastic. We hauled out the deep fryer and followed the recipe to the letter. There wasn't a single chicken liver left. Thanks for sharing this recipe!

Mushroom Pork Chops

We were not fans of this recipe. It just didn't have the "wow" factor we were looking for.

Foolproof Rib Roast

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2013
I've made this several times now, and each time it comes out perfect. I do place foil over the meat prior to reheating, to keep the crust from over cooking.

Peanut Butter and Banana Dog Biscuits

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2013
Made these for the dogs, but the kids ended up sneaking a few too. Both the kids AND the dogs enjoyed them. And best of all - no worry of recalls!

For the first time ever, I actually ate a sweet potato casserole. There wasn't a drop of this casserole left. The entire family loved it.

These taste as good as they sound. Plan on doubling up your recipe if you have pumpkin-lovers in your house! We blazed through the batch pretty quickly. Fantastic recipe - will be an Autumn tradition in our house.

Turkey Brine

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2010
I used this recipe (minus the Savory - couldn't find it) for a 21lb. turkey. I brined the turkey thawed, for about 18 hours. This recipe is hands-down the BEST brining recipe out there. Our turkey turned out perfect. Everyone agreed that this year's turkey was the best they had ever eaten. I let the turkey sit for about 30 minutes before carving it, and the juices were just over-flowing. Three days later, and the turkey is as tasty as it was the first day. Thanks so much for a great recipe!

My Best Clam Chowder

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2010
I tweaked it (as others have suggested) by adding the bacon and softening up the vegetables in the bacon fat. I also didn't have any red wine vinegar, and substituted with apple cider vinegar. It turned out fabulously. Overall, a really good chowder!

Coconut Poke Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2010
Fabulous cake! The first time I made it, it ended up way too gooey. My fault because I allowed the cake to cool. The second time I made this it was perfect!

Oatmeal Peanut Butter Cookies III

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2010
These cookies are evil. I made these according to the directions listed. The only change I made was to skip the frosting. These cookies are perfect without added sweetness. I just took my last batch out of the oven as I type this, and I'm going to make another batch right away because I know once my husband walks through the door and smells these, they won't last long. Thanks for sharing!!!

French Bread

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2010
This was my first foray into making bread. It turned out fabulously. I didn't change any of the ingredients. However, I didn't let it rise the full 40 minutes after I punched the dough down (was running out of time) and just threw it in the oven as it was. It still turned out better than most french bread I've bought from a store. Will definitely make this again and let it rise fully the next time. Thanks for sharing!

Easy Seafood Fettucini

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2009
I thought that this recipe was a good BASE to work with. I added Bay Seasoning and fresh garlic to my mixture to give it a little more taste. That said, it's MUCH easier (and faster) than traditional alfredo-type sauces, and since I generally keep cream of mushroom in my pantry, this is a recipe that I'm sure to make again in various dishes (I think adding some sliced mushrooms and pouring it on top of chicken would be delicious too!). Thanks for the recipe!
