London Broil I

Deeeeeelicious! My 2 yr old is gobbling it up! The only slight change I made is I added about 1/2 tbsp of balsamic vinegar based on one reviewer's suggestion.

Lentils and Rice with Fried Onions (Mujadarrah)

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2011
This is OH MY GOODNESS wonderful! I made a couple of changes--used 2 onions (do it, you won't be sorry) and I added 1 TBSP cumin and 1 1/2 tsp garam masala to the lentils when they were cooking--which was a recommendation of another reviewer. also used brown instead of white rice. I served this with wheat pita bread triangles and cucumber salad (recipe from this site). My husband RAVED all night about the whole dinner!

Simple Turkey Chili

Reviewed: May 10, 2011
Wow! Wonderful! My husband just went back for thirds! I used lean ground turkey, doubled the cumin, only 1/4 tsp of cayenne and only 1 cup of water. It packed a good punch and was just the right consistency. I added a can of drained corn and so glad I did. I served with shredded cheese and low fat sour cream. Sooo yummy! Thank you for the recipe, I'll be making this frequently.

Maple Salmon

Reviewed: Jun. 18, 2011
Amazing! I made the recipe as is, but my husband grilled the salmon. He also basted some of the marinade on it when cooking it on the grill and got them to a perfect glaze while the rest of the fish flaked. Even my mom who doesn't eat salmon had seconds! Thanks for the recipe.

Dijon Grilled Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2011
I enjoyed this a lot! It was super simple to make and very tasty, especially since it was basted with the marinade. I only marinated for about 4 hrs but they were thin, boneless chops and this seemed fine. I'd like to try this with chicken too! thanks for the recipe!

Classic American-Style Potato Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2011
I made this exactly as written. I was skeptical about the sweet pickles, but man, was the whole thing great! Even my hubby who is particular about potato salad raved. I've tried several potato salad recipes, but this is my new go to recipe. Thanks!

Simple White Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2011
I'm usually a chocolate cake girl but this was excellent for homemade white cake. The only alteration I made is added an extra teaspoon of vanilla for more of a vanilla flavor. I liked this better than the red velvet cupcakes that I also made. These were light, fluffy, and super tasty! Especially with chocolate frosting. ;) Thanks!

Spaghetti Carbonara II

Wonderful flavor!!! I took another reviewers advice and mixed the egg with the parmesan then mixed it with the spaghetti before adding it to the rest of the ingredients. I also added some peas. Delicious! Thanks for the recipe!

White Chili with Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2011
Delicious! But...this is more like soup. My husband kept saying it's great SOUP. I used cilantro instead of parsley, used 4 cloves of garlic, 4 chicken breasts and a small can of chopped green chilis. I served it with shredded cheese, tortilla chips and sour cream. Wonderful! I also served with Honey Corn Bread from this site.

Classic Goulash

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2011
Good comfort food and so easy. I halved the recipe, and traded worcestshire sauce for soy sauce and added a green pepper. My husband loved it. Topped it with cheese and served sourdough toast with it. Thanks for an easy meal!

Burger or Hot Dog Buns

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2011
Really good, especially right out of the oven. I didn't have instant yeast so I used dry active yeast --2 3/4 tsp and I proofed the yeast first then mixed everything together and did 2 rises. I made hot dog buns--they weren't pretty, but with practice, I'm sure they'll get better. These can be used also as sandwich rolls. Thanks!

Baked Ziti III

yumm! I also mixed the sour cream with the pasta and used a little more cheese than the recipe called for. The jars of sauce I had were 24 oz each but seemed plenty. Very hearty and wonderful comfort food!

deeeeelicious! It was pretty thick so I added 1 1/2 cups of chicken broth as suggested by other reviewers and I added 1/2 tsp of thyme and omitted mushrooms. Everything else as written. Served over rice and oh so yummy! Thanks for the recipe!

Angel Chicken Pasta

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2012
Great flavor that would taste great over rice too. My husband said this was a keeper! I only used 4 chicken breasts and about 8 oz linguini and the amount of sauce was just right. If you use more meat and/or more pasta, I recommend you make more sauce. Plus, a little of this sauce goes a long way.
