Sugar Cookie Icing

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2011
This is a very bland tasting icing. The consistency was a little odd when tasted and the icing did not harden even after setting up over night. It didn't leave a fingerprint on top of the icing when touched but I brought 6 cookies into work stacked one on top of the other and the cookies all stuck together. This was after they had "dried" overnight. I would not recommend this recipe for any cookies that may be stacked.

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2011
I have searched for years to find the perfect sugar cookie. I wanted something buttery and tasty instead of the bland tasteless cookies my mother made because they would hold their shape. These cookies do both. They do not hold their shape exactly because they puff up slightly while cooking but their cut shape is still unmistakable. These cookies taste amazing (especially if you want to enhance the butter flavor with a little extract. My 4" hearts cooked in 7 minutes.

Quick Yeast Rolls

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2012
VERY sticky dough... not the kind you can roll out but have to spoon into tins or onto a baking sheet. Mine came out quite dense and a little gummy. I will not be making this recipe again as there are so many better bread roll recipes out there.

Cathy's Peanut Butter Fudge

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2013
I made this recipe as directed and it turned out good but was not quite as peanut buttery as I had hoped. This is a very hard recipe to work with. You have less than a minute to Stir in the peanut butter and vanilla and then "pour" into a pan before it turns into hard little pebbles that are better served as an ice cream topping. The fudge comes out a little dry but good. I'm on the look out for a spectacular old fashioned Peanut Butter Fudge recipe that does NOT use marshmallow. This was not the spectacular recipe I've been looking for but it is tasty. The search continues.

Old-Fashioned Pancakes

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2013
I just made these today ... followed recipe except for added 1/2 tsp cinnamon to the dry ingredients and 1/2 tsp vanilla to the milk. These came out tall but not as light as I would have expected. They were a bit salty and nothing special. Still looking for a go to recipe for pancakes. This fed me, my husband, and my grown son. Would definitely double the recipe if we had all the kids today.
