About this Cook
I am a Wife, Mother and Grandmother with a zest for life, family & cooking! My daughters actually "plan" what I am going to cook when I go to Atlanta! There is nothing like hearing my grandchildren telling me I make the best cake or ask when I am going to send cookies! I am thankful to have a husband who will try anything I cook and not complain if he does not like the dish!
My favorite things to cook
I love cooking ethnic comfort foods, be it American, Italian, Mexican, or Greek...be it a quick throw together or an all day cooking affair.
My favorite family cooking traditions
There are foods I simply have to make from my childhood during the Holiday Season, ALWAYS Grandmas meatballs & tea slush for Christmas Eve and Mom's fudge is a must! Turkey for Thanksgiving, Ham for Christmas & Easter, ham bone soup for New Years and I only eat pumpkin pie at Thanksgiving!
My cooking triumphs
One year, for my "birthday weekend" I made a totally Greek dinner for my friends. Tiropitakia, spanakopita, dolmades, horiatiki salata, moussaka & psomi. It was awesome & had rave reviews!
My cooking tragedies
One of the first meals I made for my husband was steaks with garlic bread flambe, the broiler is not my friend!

Golompke (Beef and Cabbage Casserole)
I have made this twice. Easy-peasy and delish! I did add a dash of nutmeg to the soup mixture, it gave the cabbage/meat a good pop of flavor...Hubby had me add a breadcrumb & cheddar cheese topping, which was very good as well, gave the dish some crunch.

English Muffins
These are AWESOME! Easy to make & very tasty. Hubby loved them as did the girls at work. I followed the recipe to a tee, only next time, I will use my 3" cutter to make them a little larger.

Apple Strudel Muffins
These muffins disappeared at my house! I took some to work, they were gone, my husband had them in his lunch and for a snack. Everyone loved them. They are moist & flavorful. The only thing I did different, was to add walnuts to the muffin & to the strudel. I will make these again, and soon....YUMMY!
