About this Cook
Well, I started out cooking when I was just about 10. I got bored and hungry and started cooking my own meals. After a while, was cooking eveything from burgers to pbj's.
My favorite things to cook
I'm mostly into mexican, but I love to grill my food no matter what
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom was a pretty good cook. I just wasn't crazy about her spaghetti. But being an Okie she fixed some great biscuits and gravy
My cooking triumphs
Mostly it was the early days. I got so hungry and I got tired of TV dinners. In those days there were no microwave ovens so I had to wait 30 min to heat up a couple of 'em in the oven. Thats what got me thinking that maybe I could cook something besides TV dinners...
My cooking tragedies
I tried to grill enchiladas once. They were too dry.

Teriyaki Marinade and Sauce
Its a good recipe. Didn't have rice vinegar so used white wine vinegar instead and it still came out good. It had almost a smoky sweet taste I really enjoyed on shish kebob from the grill over white rice.

Banana Sour Cream Bread
This was delicious! Followed the recipe EXACTLY (but cut the servings in half since I only had 3 ripe bananas)and it was so moist and light. The best banana bread Ive ever made. I strongly suggest that the walnuts be added if you like walnuts at all; they added a flavorful crunch. And dusting the pan with cinnamon sugar gave it a sweet thin crust. BUT one warning; unless Ive got the wimpiest, most contrary oven ever, when I set it at 300 degrees it just wasn't enough to cook it in one hour. After testing it at one hour I had to add another 25 minutes before it was done. But it was worth it....

Oven Fried Parmesan Chicken
Just fabulous! Used boneless chicken breasts and prepared them exactly according to the recipe using Panko Italian-style bread crumbs. It was delicious and so easy to make.
