About this Cook
I am a teacher and that means that I can leave at 6 am and not come home until 6 pm so I am always looking for recipes that don't require a lot of extravagant ingredients. I love to cook and make up recipes or tweek already written recipes to fit my and my family's tastes. I also love to cook for my dogs!
My favorite things to cook
I am eclectic in my tastes. I love everything from appetizers to desserts to breads! Sometimes I look up recipes because I have an ingredient to use up or because something has caught my eye.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I love holidays because it is a big potluck event! I love trying to recreate my grandmothers bun recipe, I so need to take a baking class though!
My cooking triumphs
Recreating my Mothers vegetable soup and her poor man's cake! My Dad was the judge and he deemed them worthy!
My cooking tragedies
I have a hit and miss relationship with making homemade buns of any kind but especially my grandmothers with the pinch of this, hand full of that, no exact measurements!

Tartar Sauce I
Delicious and perfect! I did add a little more relish, just because I love relish! I didn't use the lemon juice, since I had no lemon and I used chopped up green onion! Very delicious! There was none left by the end! Thank you for sharing!

Pennsylvania Coal Region Barbecue
This recipe came to my attention through the All Recipes email newsletter. Perfect timing! I had a pound of hamburger in the fridge, trying to decide what to do with it and low and behold, there was this recipe. Being from Pennsylvania myself, the title naturally caught my attention. All of the ingredients were standards in the pantry and the recipe itself is simple. The taste though is anything but simple. This is Absolutely Delicious! I wouldn't change a thing on the recipe! This is just the perfect mixture of sweet and sour flavors. It comes together quickly and everyone in the family just loved it! I really recommend this for the busy Mom or Dad or anyone. THANK YOU for sharing this recipe!
