Cream of Asparagus and Mushroom Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2014
Even my hubby liked it! and he is NOT a veggie person. This recipe is fabulous - really flavourful and satisfying. I didn't change anything and will be making it again and again!

Molasses Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2013
I made this recipe and it is as great as others have already said. I didn't change anything but the next time I might add some raisins. In my family, this now has the stamp of approval from 3 grandbabies, 1 DIL, and most importantly, from my hubby! I will definitely be making these again and again.

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2012
Wonderful! I added shredded old cheddar, some diced carrot, crumbled bacon, and used liquid concentrate chicken bouillon. I made a white sauce in the microwave while the potatoes etc. were simmering, and then just added the white sauce into the soup pot. To top it off, I added a little sliced green onion on top to serve. It was a hit... even hubby enjoyed it although he grumbled about having carrots in it as he isn't a fan of carrots. I have to sneak his veggies in to everything.

Pork Tenderloin Casserole

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2011
This is a casserole that my family can't get enough of. It's so simple to prepare and we have it at least once every two weeks. It's low-fat,nutritious, and healthy - low fat, and costs very little when you buy pork tenderloin on sale. You could change the veggies to vary the flavour, but we love it just as written.

World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2011
Wow! A keeper. Other reviewers were right on the money - this is delicious. I served it to an Italian and he said it was really good! Definitely leave in the fennel. I used mild italian sausage and lean-ground beef. Even though I sprayed my foil, it still stuck to the cheese on top. The next time I will leave the cheese off the top until I uncover it. I cooked it for all but 15 mins. with the foil on, then removed it. The last 15 mins. is plenty of time to melt and slightly brown the cheese, so it does not need to be on top until then.

Chocolate Ganache

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2011
I made this with half bittersweet and half semi-sweet chocolate. It was very good. I think the next time I would make it with all semi-sweet. Definitely the easiest ganache to make and I will be making it again.

Slow Cooker Texas Pulled Pork

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2011
A definite keeper... I served this on girl's night - all of us over 50 - and everyone loved it!!! They all wanted the recipe and it could not have been easier to prepare. I put a 6 lb. boneless pork shoulder in my slow cooker on high for 6 hrs. I made 50% more sauce and it was the perfect. We had it on multi-grain kaiser rolls with a caesar salad - just fabulous. I followed the recipe except for 1. I did not have apple cider vinegar so I used the same amt. of white vinegar and added about 3 Tbsp. applesauce, and 2. I used a combo of bbq sauces (a couple of Bullseye sauces and a couple of Diana sauces). I omitted the chili powder, and we did not butter the buns.

Maple Apple Crisp

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2010
Although I haven't tried this recipe, my best apple crisp recipe uses 1/2 c butter with 3/4 c. each of flour, br. sugar, and oats, plus a pinch of salt. The topping does not taste like too much butter. It's perfectly balanced and when anyone tastes it, I'm constantly asked for the recipe. Don't forget to sprinkle cinnamon over the fruit, and I also add a bit to the topping too. CINNAMON works well with other fruits too - you can use just about any fruit or fruit combo in a crisp.

Cranberry Orange Breakfast Bread

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2010
I have tried many orange cranberry bread recipes, but this one is by far the best! I made it in my bread machine set on sweet, conversion for the yeast = 2 tsp bread machine yeast. The first batch was made exactly as per recipe. My house smelled amazing! It tasted wonderful. The second batch I change 1 c. of the flour to whole wheat flour, and added 1/4 c. ground flax, about 3/4 c. chopped dates, and a pinch more orange zest. Once again, really delicious, a bit healthier, and as toast - wow! I won't be bothering to try any more orange cranberry recipes because this one can't be topped.
