Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

This is the most delicious recipe for apple pie that I have ever used! I am making my second one now as I type. I did add a tsp. of cinnamon to the sauce before heating and a tsp. of vanilla after heating for more "traditional" apple pie flavor. To save time, I used a pre-made Pillsbury crust and just poured the sauce over the apples before putting the top crust on. I followed the advice of others and baked it at 350' for the whole time to prevent the crust from over-browning. I brushed heavy cream onto my vented crust and then sprinkled a tiny bit of sugar, but that is certainly not necessary. I highly recommend this pie recipe and it is my go-to recipe from this point forward!

Ramen Coleslaw

This was so easy to make. I calculated the recipe ingredients to 12 servings and followed advice from a couple other reviews: 1) Used frying pan to toast the almonds (couldn't fine sesame seeds but I really liked the almond flavor!) 2) Used two packages of coleslaw mix instead of cabbage and green onions. 3) Used 1/4 low sodium soy sauce and omitted the salt. 4) I waited until right before serving to mix in the toasted nuts. This was delicious and very easy and went really fast at our family BBQ!

Good Old Fashioned Pancakes

I doubled the recipe but really didn't need to for four people - there would have been plenty. This was by far the best from scratch recipe for pancakes that I have tried - they were delicious and fluffy...mmmmmm! The only thing I really changes was I used a whole stick of butter for the doubled recipe and only one teaspoon of salt because I used salted butter. They were "just right." Thank you for such a yummy recipe!

Old Fashioned Apple Pie

Oh yeah - THAT'S what I'm talking about! What a terrific flavor, just delicious and so easy to make! I did make sure to use heaping tablespoons of flour and 7 cups seemed like too many apples; even after heaping them into the crust, I had some left over. I will definitely make this again, thank you!

Corned Beef and Cabbage I

Okay, this was my first time trying corned beef and I wonder why people eat it? I think the recipe was fine because everything looked good, but the corned beef is really not a flavor that I ever intend to eat again. So I have to give it a one. It was easy but not a favorite in this house!
