Baked Teriyaki Chicken

This sauce is excellent. I used low-sodium soy sauce, used raw honey instead of the sugar, and added more garlic. Baked at 425 as instructed, in a foil lined pan, brushing with sauce at 15 min, at 30 min when I flipped them over, and again at 45 min. It was so good that my very picky husband who never wants to try anything new and was skeptical even of this recipe, could not stop going on about how good it was and asked me to make it again today.

Barley Mushroom Risotto

I used an extra 2 cups of liquid and kept cooking and stirring and the barley never softened enough. Al dente would be putting it lightly, it was almost crunchy. Is the barley supposed to be cooked before you start? Disappointing.

Crispy and Creamy Doughnuts

Following the recipe exactly, the doughnuts came out heavy and chewy. Kind of a cross between a yeast and cake doughnut. Also needs more sweetness, as the taste was kind of like glazed bread. This is my first time making doughnuts so I am now scouring the internet for tips and tricks to make them lighter and/or a better recipe.

Chef John's Macaroni and Cheese

Tried this recipe because I was starting to think my tried and true mac&cheese was a little bland. I was skeptical of the thyme so only filled the 1/4 tsp about 2/3 full. Followed everything else to a T. The thyme flavor was so overpowering, the dish was inedible.
