Weather Woes and Nascar Party

Hi everyone, It is so good to have power and be able to cook like a 21st century person again! One thing though, I tend to appreciate meals cooked without power than the ones with. It's definitely a feeling of accomplishment to get a tasty and healthy
meal on the table under adverse circumstances. When I moved to my home I was assured that the town was "above the fog and below the snow". Not so true. Still, looking out on my snow covered meadows I know that I am lucky to have such a view and spring and
summer are lovely here.
We went to a Nascar party on Sunday. I've actually never sat and watched a whole race but I guess this one was the one to see! Most of my friends are Nascar fans and the revelry was wild! Many of the attendees were still without power at their houses and
were happy to have a place with power to watch the race. Good times and good food! I snagged the turkey carcass and yesterday Imade a ton of Turkey Vegetable Barley soup for the freezer. I also bottled our latest batch of beer, Canadian Blonde. Today we
start a batch of lager and I'm making this week's batch of ice cream, chocolate with chocolate fudge pieces and almonds. Be still my heart! Can't wait for my new camera to arrive so I can start posting some pictures. Have a great day everyone!
