Jay's Signature Pizza Crust

Reviewed: Jun. 16, 2012
This is a great recipe! It is said that this recipe is comparible to pizza hut so I tried it. I have to say, it is even better than pizza hut! It isn't too greasy and there is a perfect crispness to the dough. I made it just like the recipe instructed but I think I may try it in the bread machine next. Don't forget to pre-bake the crust for about 5 minutes ahead of time. Happy baking!

Shrimp and Asparagus

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2011
This is a great meal! It has become a staple in our house. We use fresh green beans or sweet pea pods instead of asparagus. We cut the butter in half because it can get pretty greasy if you don't. And to make it easier on myself, I buy the shimp that are already peeled and deveined. I think you are a crazy person to do otherwise! But I am a mother of 4 and don't have the time or patience or stomach to do it myself. This dish is def. reccomended. It is also a great dish to serve when entertaining guests because it makes a lot!

To Die For Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2011
The BEST muffins I've ever had! I doubled the batter to make 16. The batter was pretty thick so I thought I added too much flour but they turned out perfect! Very fluffy and moist. They were all gone the first day (I have a big family and I gave some to our church staff). Needless to say I will definetely be making these muffins again!

EXCELLENT! My kids loved them. I have a feeling I wont be buying box mix anymore :) I added a 1/2 tsp of vanilla and they turned out great. Oh, did I mention the chocolate chips??? YUMMY

Strawberry Muffins

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2011
Good muffins BUT you have to read the reviews and use the advice offered. I decided to make them "Chocolate Dipped Strawberry Muffins" by adding about a cup of chocolate chips. I added the brown sugar, vanilla extract, and lessened the flour a bit (like the reviews suggested). They were good but the strawberries got kind of mushy, making the muffins a little mushy inside. But all in all, very good. The chocolate chips were a VERY good addition. I would definately reccomend it!

Chicken Fried Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2010
This is grrrreeeaaattt fried chicken!!! Before battering, I put the chicken 2 at a time in a ziplock bag and pound them flat with a rolling pin. I also used a TBS of seasoning salt instead. I cooked the chicken as instructed in one of the reviews and left them on one side then flipped once. I have made it twice and both times I served it with corn and mashed potatoes and white pepper gravy to top the potatoes and chicken.....can you say delicious?!!!! Definately reccomend!

This recipe was good, but not fantastic. My 9 year old daughter liked it a lot and ate leftovers for a couple of days.

Finger Steaks

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2010
I couldn't believe how awesome these were! The batter was so good! I couldn't find flat iron steaks so I used flank steaks. I also used a light beer b/c that is all my father-in-law had :) and I chose to omit the hot pepper sauce knowing that my kids would not like it hot. The whole fam loved them. The only thing I would warn is they are a little chewy so watch the little ones when they eat them.

Dee's Roast Pork for Tacos

Reviewed: Jul. 15, 2010
I like this recipe a lot. I made it in the crockpot as one of the other reviewers suggested and it wasn't "falling apart" moist like the original recipe said. I also thought that the flavor wasn't as strong as I hoped it would be. In the future I will probably try putting it in the oven and using cumin in the seasoning to give it an extra kick. Otherwise it is a great recipe. I used it for taco salad the next day with tortilla chips, lettuce, tomato, onion, cheese, sour cream, salsa, and western dressing....yum!!!
