The first time I made cornbread was when I used the mix from the box. Since then, I've thought I would never make cornbread again because it's hard and bland. Yesterday, I made jambalaya and my husband said it would go well with cornbread.Oh-oh! However, I tried to find out if Allrecipes had something good on it. And I came to this recipe. Based on the good reviews, I decided to give this a try. I never buy buttermilk, so I squeezed 1 lemon and add it with milk until it filled up to 1 cup. Also,I used the iron cast skillet put in the oven. And the result? Oh, my! It's so delicious and soft. I'll absolutely keep this recipe. Thanks, Bethany :)
