Just me!
About this Cook
I am a 39 year old mother of three, happily married to a US Navy sailor. Although I am old enough to know how to cook, I am accustomed to things out of a box. My husband, however, makes everything from scratch; from sauces to breads.......even his own pasta! I am trying so hard to learn how to cook, so my kids wont run for their lives when they see me in the kitchen!
My favorite things to cook
Right now, baking is my forte. Because I am diabetic, I am always looking for diabetic friendly desserts to make, that taste great. Hooray or Splenda!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My husband, the gourmet chef of our home, cooks all of our meals. My kids get scared when they see me in the kitchen. I am trying to change that!
My cooking triumphs
Banana Nut Bread, from scratch! Usually my baked goods turn out crunchy on the outside and gooey on the inside. My bread, however, was perfect and I am so proud of myself.
My cooking tragedies
My daughter would quickly tell you about the turkey incident of 2000. My husband was deployed and I made our turkey dinner. When I put a knife in the turkey to carve it, it BROKE OFF. LOL

Creamed Spinach
Beginning cook here and was amazed at the simplicity of this. And it was so delicious! My kids were hesitant to try it but devoured it once they had that first bite!

Sour Cream Coffee Cake III
I followed the recipe and when I removed it from the oven, the center was liquid. I put it back in the oven and baked for 45 minutes more. Still, the outside was done but the center was not. I must say, the edges were delicious, I just wish the entire thing had baked properly.
