Mom's Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2010
Tried this recipe because it had less butter than some others. I made these cookies with whole wheat flour and substituted splenda baking mix for half the sugars. They were delicious and the kids never had a clue that they were eating whole grain cookies..

Easy, fast and good. Consider cajun seasoning in place of salt and pepper.

Best Toffee Ever - Super Easy

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2011
Absolutely awesome. First time I made this it took forever becasue I stirred constantly and briskly. I just made a second batch and it took about a third of the time because I stirred slowly. This is what I am making for Christmas gifts this year.

Sausage Balls

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2011
The recipe is good, but you definitely need to cook longer! I baked for 45 minutes, and added french fried onions like the custom version called for. Delicious.

These were great. Baked 25 minutes instead of the 10 minutes in the recipe.

Gingerbread Boys

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2010
These cookies turned out perfect. The dough was a little crumbly, but it rolled out fine. The cookies are light and full of flavor, but not too spicy. Highly recommend this recipe exactly as it is written.

Zesty Quinoa Salad

Reviewed: May 8, 2013
This was rocking!! I will probably add a little less salt next time, and I am a salt-lover, so I can see that some would find this recipe as-is too salty. I used lemon juice instead of lime because that's what I had on hand. I will be making this often - and in fact am thinking of making it tomorrow again (one week later) because it is so good. I will use a bit more red pepper flakes next time, and can imagine that many more yummy veggies could be added or even grilled chicken if desired. This is a new favorite.

BBQ Country Style Ribs

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2010
Thank goodness I found this recipe. My husband loves country style ribs, but I have always thought they would make better dog food than people food. Following this recipe (foil covered for the first two hours) was so tender, that I have revised my opinion of this cut of meat. I did half with BBQ sauce and half with steak sauce. Both were great .

N'Awlins Stuffed Bell Peppers

Reviewed: Jul. 14, 2010
These were great! I made a few changes. I had half the stuffing mix, so I supplemeneted with mashed potatoes. I used Campbells Creamy Tomato soup to add liquid (having read other reviews). Next time I'd like to add some corn. I will definitely make these again.

Banana Cake VI

Absolutely Amazing!!! This cake is flavorful and moist. Honestly, I wouldn't change a thing. I will definitely be making this again. Overall bake time for me was one hour and fifteen minutes, and then it went straight to the freezer for 45 minutes. It came out perfect.

Glazed Corned Beef

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2010
Loved this recipe for corned beef. It was very easy and the whole family like it. I used dehydrated onions instead of fresh, and omitted the mustard and the horseradish in the sauce, simply because I didn't have them on hand. I ended up with a sweet tangy glaze that worked just fine.

Bob's Awesome Lasagna

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2010
Bob's lasagna is truly awesome. I love that the recipe is basic, but full of flavor, which is just what the doctor ordered when cooking for picky kids! My 13 yo gobbled this up like he was starving, so this will be on the menu again! I followed the recipe with no changes.

Soft, Moist and Gooey Cinnamon Buns

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2010
These rolls were fabulous and got a gooey thumbs up from my kids. I thought I had messed them up because my dough machine pan did not lock in place. When the dough cycle had completely finished, I looked inside and nothing had mixed. I emptied the entire contents in to my kitchen aid, mixed the dough and let it rise. I then followed the remaining directions. Let the rolls rise, put them in the fridge overnight, and the next AM popped them in the oven. Wonderful!

Mom's Yeast Rolls

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2010
Batter was sticky like everyone says, but these rolls were very good. My kids loved them and even had them for breakfast the next morning. I used half whole wheat flour and half bread flour. I think a little more salt would make them even better.
