Green bean casserole with homemade mushroom sauce - chicagotribune.com

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2011
I like that it has homemade sauce instead of canned mushroom soup; however, it tasted blander than I had hoped. (I used fresh mushrooms instead of dried.)

Easy and good. I'd rate it even higher if not using processed foods to make it.

Peppermint Ribbon Cake Recipe | Taste of Home Recipes

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2011
I had to try this recipe for Christmas time this year as my son had already helped me with crushing peppermint candies for my first attempt at making peppermint bark. He pulverized half of it, so that peppermint powder is what I used for this cake. I substituted water for the milk in the icing and added more peppermint powder to it. If you don't have pulverized mints, you should add peppermint extract to the icing.

Grilled Montana Trout

Reviewed: May 6, 2010
First time I've made fish this way, and I was very pleased with how easy and good it was. I don't know if this has happened to anyone else, but the skin stuck to the foil when I pulled the foil off, and I considered that a plus. I used lime and varied the herbs a bit (replaced rosemary with winter savory).

Lamb Ribs with Honey and Wine

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2010
I never cooked or ate Lamb Ribs before--saw them on sale for .99/lb. and thought I'd give them a try. Searched online and chose this as the best sounding recipe. The recipe IS good (I substituted fresh orange juice for the lemon) and my family liked it, but the lamb ribs were WAY too fatty (probably why they were so cheap). I'd try this recipe again with a cut of lamb.
