Tex-Mex Turkey Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2012
This was a decent recipe. I used Neufchâtel cheese (2oz.) instead of sour cream. And added some cayenne pepper and extra oregano. Needed extra spice. Might add a jalapeño next time. Note, without the toppings it's only about 220 cal per cup.

Evil Turkey

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2012
Flavor was very good! Cooked tented in foil. Next time would try the bag. Breast meat was a little dry. I had a 14 lb. turkey and cooked it for 3 1/2 hours at 325 degrees. Loved the flavor of the veggies inside the bird!

Cajun Crab Soup

Reviewed: Jul. 11, 2011
Very good recipe. I added bell pepper to the veggies. A can of tomato paste to the broth and only a part of the cream. Plus a pinch of cajun spice.

Washabinaros Chili

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2011
This chili was very good! Different from my everyday chili! I used ground turkey instead of ground beef and a light beer to cut down on calories. I also added a half of a red bell pepper. It was delicious! I omitted one can of beans and substitute one can of black beans for one can of kidney. Next time I will use 3 cans, my children felt it was too soupy, but that could be why. Will definitely make again.

Jamie's Minestrone

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2011
This soup was not a hit with my family. I think you have to add the wine or else you won't get the full extent of the flavor. The broth was good, but I felt that the vegetables overpowered it, eventhough I cut down on them! I only used one zucchini and 4 carrots. But there was still too many vegetables. More of a stoup than a soup.

Stuffed Sole with Imitation Crab

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2011
This recipe was just okay. I thought the crab should have been broken up more. I used tilapia and it was really difficult to roll it. Not a hit with my family. They also felt it had too much crab. Maybe more mayo and less crab.

Chicken and Lentils with Rosemary

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2010
Excellent flavor. My kids are not crazy about lentils. I also felt it could use a few less lentils.

Banana Oat Muffins

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2010
These were okay, they had a rather funky texture to them and not a ton of flavor. I added cinnamon. They looked real nice, but not the best.

Fudgy Milk Chocolate Fondue

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2010
Took this too my bookclub and it was a huge success! I added only half of the hershey syrup and a handfull of semisweet chocolate chips. Amazing would definately make again. Only problem I had was that it got super thick.

Caprese Appetizer

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2010
This was very good! I skewered half a grape tomato, a piece of fresh mozzarella cheese, a piece of basil and then the second half of the tomato. Then I drizzled the oil, salt, papper and some basalmic vinegar over the skewers!

They were okay. I used pepper jack instead of Monteray Jack cheese. And oregano instead of dill.

Italian Sausage Soup with Tortellini

Reviewed: May 6, 2009
Very good! Even my kids, after initially whining about the zucchini, said they loved it! I made a few substitutions. I substituted 1/2 a can of crushed tomatoes for the 4 large tomatoes (because my children hate chunky tomatoes) and I used spicy italian sausage. And I added some crushed red pepper, because we like things spicy. I also made the tortellini separate. I hate it when pasta is in soup and gets huge and soft. And I never took out the sausage, I just added the ingredients in the order that the recipe said.

Hawaiian Banana Nut Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2008
A good recipe, didn't take as long to cook, as the recipe said, and I actually lowered the temp at the last part. I used 1 c. sugar and 1/2 c. brown sugar, omitted the cherries and used pecans instead of walnuts. Made some mini loaves that I cooked for 20 min.

Cranberry Pork Roast

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2001
Great recipe! My husband liked it, and it's one of the few meats my three year old has eaten, in which he didn't chew one piece for an hour. I only had a 1.5 lb roast and only cooked it for about 5 hours, maybe could have even been cooked less.

Turkey Pot Pie I

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2001
My family did not care for this recipe. It was the first pot pie recipe I'd ever tried and it wasn't juicy enough. I also think it needed something. Also all the pie pastry recipes were for 9 in pies, so I had a ton of leftover filling.
