Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2011
These cookies were too dry and crumbly and this recipe confirmed that I don't like the peanutbutter recipes that use oats. The taste was good, but just too dry.

Cider Pork Chop Dinner

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2011
This was a great recipe! I followed the recipe exactly and it turned out great. I have an electric stove and it tends to cook fast (more boil, less simmer), so I took it off the stove at about 50 minutes instead of 60. I will certainly make this again.

Irish Stout Beer Pot Roast

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2011
I didn't love this meal. I thought it was bland. The meat was good, but I didn't like the way it made the potatoes and veggies taste. It was a dinner and we ate it with no complaints, but I don't think I would make it again.

Tofu and Rice Stuffed Peppers

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2011
This was a nice, good dinner. Nothing too great, but very edible and a nice change to routine. I did add in chopped onion with the garlic and mix the ingredient together (includinging some of the cheese) before stuffing the peppers. The tomato slice on top was a nice touch and I will add more next time. The timing for cooking was great, the peppers still had a crispness to them. I will make again.

Guy Approved Meatloaf

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2010
I gave this a 3, my boyfriend gave it a 4 star rating. Like others, I used bread crumbs instead of crackers. I also skipped the salt, seeing as the kettle chips I used seemed saltly enough. I also removed the foil for the last 10 minutes and turn the oven to broil for the last 5. The meat loaf was crumbly and didn't hold together well. Also, I recommend the loaf on a rack, so it doesn't sit in its grease. I'll probably make this recipe over traditional, but I wasn't "wowed".

King Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2010
This was so great! Love the lemon flavor. I about 1 and a halfed the filling. I made both this recipe and the King Cake recipe with the brown sugar filling and this was the favorite at the party. Great the next day too for breakfast.

Scottish Shortbread II

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2010
This was a great and quick recipe and I liked that it does yield a smaller amount because I was baking for only 2 (i used 9X9 pan and cut about 16 little squares. I cooked for 28 minutes. I also warmed raspberry jam after I took the shortbread out of the oven and drizzled on. I let cool for a long time and had no crumbling. Update: I made these again and followed another review to put the dough in mini-muffins pans. This is a great idea. I had left over raspberries and strawberries, so I put one or two small pieces in each tin. This was perfect and much needed otherwise the shortbread would have been too thick for me without another flavor. I love this recipe, it is so fast!! Also, when using the minis pan, it cooked for about 15 minutes.

Mardi Gras King Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2010
This was the first time I have baked a King Cake, instead of ordering one. This was yummy. Bread did seem a little dry even taking it out five minutes early. Next time I want to double the filling or add cream cheese.
