Tuscan Grilled Steak

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2007
This is a very tasty recipe. I used a cast iron grill pan to cook this steak. Lots of flavor, very satisfying for "diet" food.

Microwave Bread and Butter Pickles

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2011
Very delicious and easy! Perfect for that lonely cucumber in the produce bin of the fridge that I discover on "clean the fridge day". I used a red onion the first time (it really was a clean the fridge day) and came out with very pretty pink pickles!

Emily's Famous Marshmallows

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2007
I can see why Emily is famous. Our family does not eat pork products, so homemade marshmallows are the only way for us to enjoy them. I get beef gelatin at Akins. And let me tell you, Sa'mores made from these marshmallows are to die for! Oh yeah, they are the best for hot chocolate too! I can just imagine "Peeps", moon pies, rocky road ice cream...I have to go make another batch.

French Breakfast Puffs

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2007
This came out so nicely. Texture like a great cake donut. 1st time I followed the recipe to the letter, and they came out perfect. Next time I'll try all the traditional (and not so traditional) donut toppings.

This is so easy and delicious. I follow the recipe exactly, but I use my rice cooker instead of on the stove. No fuss, no muss and perfect every time.

Sweet BBQ Chicken Kabobs

Reviewed: Aug. 29, 2007
Crazy easy! And very tasty! I've also made this in the skillet. You don't get that grilled on flavor, but still yummy. Perfect mid-week, but would be great for a cookout get together!

Quick Chick!

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2007
Very flexible recipe! I was out of jar gravy, so I popped an envelope of the powdered stuff, with a cup of cold water, in the bottom of my slow cooker and wisked it together with soy sauce and seasoning. Everything else was to the recipe. My slow cooker is calibrated a little high, so it took only 2.5 hours on high. There are so many ways you could dress this simple recipe up - Mushrooms, sauted onions and peppers, lemon zest with garlic, etc...

Super easy and super delicious! I made this recipe as written the first time and the 2nd time I chopped up the hot dogs into small pieces. Both methods worked!

Slow Cooker Beef Vegetable Soup

Excellent comfort food. I added a small can of tomato sauce at the end to add a little brightness to an otherwise excellent recipe.

High Temperature Eye-of-Round Roast

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2008
Absolutely delicious. I followed the recipe exactly. After the 2 1/2 hours the oven was just barely warm, but the carry-over heat in the roast maintained a safe temperature. I sliced at an angle with a very sharp knife to help keep the juices in every yummy slice. And the left-overs (not many left-overs) that made up my roast beef sandwich the next day made a very special lunch! One hint. When slicing thinly, do it in the pan you cooked the roast in. If any of those yummy juices escape you can recapture them mess free! Excellent recipe. Thank you so much for sharing.

Quick Chicken Divan

Wow! This is yummy. I substituted the mayo with milk and I added a little garlic powder. This works well with mixed frozen veggies too. Super simple to put together and the whole family really enjoyed this.

Easy Chicken Cacciatore

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2008
This is so easy and so good. If you don't have cooked chicken on hand just cook it with the onion and green peppers. was very pleased with how quickly this came together. I served this on whole wheat spaghetti. It would be great on rice, too.

Italian Meatball Sandwich Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2007
This was a major hit with my family. Because so many reviewers had soggy bread complaints I did toast the bread before adding the spread and I omitted the water. Also, I used ground turkey (this weekend was "Ice Storm 2007" and Walmart was completely out of every type of ground beef). Regardless, this made an amazingly delicious and simple meal.

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Exceptional pie recipe. Grandma Ople's pie is wonderful as written, as well as spiced up with cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla. Apples are perfectly tender without being mushy and the sauce is just right when served ala mode!
