Nana's Southern Coleslaw
This is absolutely fantastic. To me, this is just about the perfect coleslaw dressing! The only thing I did was add some celery seed.

Grandma's Egg Custard Pie
I just tried it and it was extremely good. The custard came out very smooth, delicate, and silky. I think I might like to add a little more vanilla though. I took it out after 33 minutes at 400 degrees. This was my first time making an egg custard pie, and I was nervous because 1) the recipe did not call for any flour and 2) the mixture was so watery when I poured it in, I was afraid it would never set! But it turned out almost perfect! The one thing--my crust got burned. I think it goes without saying that you should cover the outer crust with foil, but I think if you put it in the actual instructions it would remind dummies like me to do it!

Irish Soda Bread in a Skillet
This was excellent! I just made a small batch tonight (halving the recipe) because I made chili only to realize I didn't have any bread. I was surprised at the texture--it was soft and chewy. The only other time I tried making a soda bread a while back--I'm not sure how I screwed it up--but it was crumbly--not like a bread at all, but this was really delicious and quick and easy to make. I did preheat my cast iron pan and added a little shortening to the pan so the bread would have a nice crispy bottom.
