I was born in Canada in an eclectic area of Ontario where the multi-cultural population introduced me to some amazing and fabulously authentic cooking, but I have to say of all the cooking I have done, Southern cooking is by far my favorite. I am still working on making the perfect buscuit.
My favorite things to cook
It changes but right now I am leaning to make bread. I have mastered a great rustic italian loaf, a white bread machine loaf, soft sweet dinner rolls, and whole wheat pita bread.... still working on the buscuit.

I love all the holiday traditional meals and the seasonal dishes.
My cooking triumphs
Enjoying the process, keeping it simple, and sharing the meal with family and friends. That being said, I have found it easier not to put more than 1 or 2 new recipes into any menu.
My cooking tragedies
I have burnt pots beyond recognition, made pies that were more like soup, dropped entire dishes, oversalted, underbaked, and overcooked, but once I caught a pot of grease on fire which i prompltly grabbed and slung out the front door. Everyone was a little shook up but no real damage done, and the kids just said, "wowwwwww!". Fortunately it was later, dark and the neighbors were not out.
