Old man, half French half Cajun. Like to cook and eat as well. Not very good cook, but I cook better than some other cooks I know, and I don't call myself, "a cook." In fact I don't call myself at all, except when I missplace my cell phone.
My favorite things to cook
Seafood. I do like salty raw oysters but that doesn't count as coked food. Ok, my favorite food is raw oysters, uncooked. Then I like them char-broiled. Then comes Jambalaya, oyster, shrimp are my favorite Jambalayas and then Shrimp and Sausage gumbo, and of course crawfish bisque, or ettoufee. I like all foods and will eat almost any decent looking meal.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Boiling seafood, like shrimp, crawfish, and Fred, like Shrimp, crawfish, speckled trout, flounder, soft-shell crab.
My cooking triumphs
Probably Shrimp Jambalaya,or
Shrimp-Sausage Gumbo.Maybe Chicken sausage gumbo, Potato Salad. Crawfosj Etouffee.
My cooking tragedies
When I lived in Paris for some reason I thought I had eaten pot roasted chicken and potatoes. I did it, and I quickly learned that I had never eaten it, and that what I'd cooked was instant heartburn. Ugh.
