Garlic Cheese Biscuits

Reviewed: May 15, 2003
I am a Home Ec teacher, and use this recipe with my 7th graders. They love it and always ask for copies of the recipe to take home! The only modification: I make smaller biscuits with the kids, they cook all the way through and tend not to burn (we get a dozen from the recipe). Kudos to you Brenda - if a couple hundred kids can make this recipe successfully and enjoy the results, it has to be terrific!

Panettone II

Terrific recipe! I added 1/4 tsp each of lemon extract and almond extract. I used golden and brown raisins and candied lemon peel.

Chicken and Broccoli Braid

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2001
Pampered Chef featured an almost identical recipe several years ago, only difference is the onion. Can use turkey, and I've made it on a pizza stone in a round wreath shape - nice that way as a holiday brunch dish (with the green broccoli and red pepper peaking through). Make sure to check the bottom, sometimes it takes longer to cook through and is doughy, even though the top is brown.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2001
A good cookie recipe that my kids loved, however my batch didn't stay soft and chewy after a couple days. Also, really couldn't taste the pb cups.

Deep Dish Brownies

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2001
This is essentially the same recipe as "Best Brownies" and one I've been baking for years (same proportions - just different amounts of ingredients) I make it with 4 eggs, 1 c. butter/flour, 2 c. sugar, 2/3 c. cocoa in a 9x13 pan. Bake only 20-25 min. Variations include stirring in 1-2 cups choc. chunks or M&Ms or white choc or pb chips. Also try spreading raspberry jam over 3/4 batter, then put remaining batter over jam.

Cheese Biscuits I

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2001
We are using this recipe for this year's annual Teachers' Luncheon at the elementary school, instead of dropping the biscuits, we are using star shaped cookie cutters.

Oatmeal Raisin Cookies I

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2001
My family gobbled these up and I had to make them again two days later! I've substituted coconut or chocolate chips for the raisins.

Sour Cream Coffee Cake III

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2001
My family loves sour cream coffeecake, and this recipe comes together quickly and more importantly bakes more quickly than the bundt pan recipes. I often just use the filling as a topping instead of layering.
