Turkey-Stuffed Peppers

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2011
Like many others, I am giving this 4 stars because I made quite a few changes. I didn't boil the peppers because someone mentioned it was fine without this step and I am lazy...I used 4 large peppers, added a fair amount of reduced-sodium worchestershire sauce and pirate's bite (tea and spice company) to the turkey and only used about half of a vidalia onion. I also added some summer chicken zing (milford spice) to the gravy and mixed about 1 1/4 cups of cooked rice to the mixture before cooking. Since I was lazy and skipped the boiling, the peppers took about an hour to get soft enough to eat without a crunch. Though I made quite a few changes, this was a FANTASTIC base recipe!

Chicken Tallerinni

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2011
This was really good, but made FAR more than 8 servings! I think I'll try this again and only make 1/2 or even 1/4 of the recipe. I may use real cheese next time as well instead of Velveeta (which is not real cheese, in my humble opinion).

Sweet and Sour Jam - Not Just for Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 14, 2010
I love this stuff! I canned the jam a few weeks ago and finally used it this weekend. My husband said it could use a little more heat, but I thought it was perfect!

Sweet & Sour Chicken w/Rice.....My Way

Reviewed: Jul. 14, 2010
This was good...but...I'm not sure if it was the buttermilk or the rice flour (never used it before), but something was...off. I LOVE the sweet and sour jam and will be trying it with meatballs next! Also...this recipe made A LOT of food! My husband and I ate it for dinner and we both had leftover for lunch for 3 days! The flavors blend together after sitting, but of course the crispyness is gone. Thanks for the recipe. It was definitely interesting!

Sweet Dinner Rolls

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2010
Mine turned out a little denser than I had hoped, but that was my fault for not kneading enough. I think that's probably why the middles also didn't completely cook either. Still, a very good recipe for rolls. I'll try again soon and hopefully get it right this time!

Sweet Corn Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2010
This was absolutely wonderful! I think I could cook this about 10 minutes less in my oven (I cooked for 50 minutes) so that it holds together a little better when scooped. Or maybe I'll just make a double batch so that it fills up my glass baking pan a little more. I used can niblet corn instead of frozen and served this with Acapulco Chicken. Tasted great together!

Acapulco Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2010
This was a very good meal. Though I have to admit, it was a bit of a disaster! While sauteeing the chicken, my kitchen became unbearably similar to the gas chamber at boot camp! It was not until I was adding the other 1/2 tbs of "chili powder" until I realized that I had used Cayenne!! All crisis aside, the dish was pretty good. I served with a sweet corn bake (from this site) on tortillas with sour cream...a must when you use that much spice!! :) Please remember to check your spice labels first and tip your waitress! ;)

Baked Potato Chips Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2010
This was a pretty good recipe. Very easy to make. I left out the meat tenderizer and I used Cajun Herb and Spice potato chips. Leftovers weren't crunchy anymore, but still very moist and tasty.

Pork Chop Skillet Dinner

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2010
The was fantastic! My pork chops did dry out a bit, so if I had to make any suggestions, it would be to remove the chops to a plate after browning and about 10 minutes before the rice is finished, put them back in the skillet to cook a little longer and rewarm. The rice tasted absolutely wonderful. I'll be making this one again, for sure! Thanks!

German Red Cabbage

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2010
This was an awesome recipe! Excellent replacement for a typical potato or rice side dish. My husband hates cabbage, but we all loved this dish. I served this with the Pork Chop Skillet supper on this website. Thanks!

Beef Bulgogi

Reviewed: Jun. 16, 2010
VERY tasty dish! I ended up cooking this in a skillet because I didn't feel like dealing with a dirty grill! Still turned out delicious! Served with brown rice and thai chili garlic paste (well...hubby did...I thought it was great all by itself). This one's a keeper! THANKS!

The Best Thai Coconut Soup

Reviewed: Jun. 15, 2010
I would have given this 5 stars since my husband loved it so much, but I'm just not a big fan. He actually ate his bowl AND mine! It was a very interesting blend of flavors, though it could have been spicier. This was my first time cooking with coconut milk too, so don't let my opinion steer you away! I served this with Thai Chicken Bites with dipping sauce from this website...but I wrapped them in lettuce leaves instead of serving as an appetizer. Definitely edible, but not my favorite recipe...sorry. Thank you for a very interesting dinner! :)

Shepherd's Pie VI

Reviewed: Jun. 14, 2010
This was my first attempt at a REAL Sheperd's Pie. I've made an "ok" diet version with ground turkey and sweet potatoes, but the turkey was a bit on the bland side. NOT an issue with this recipe! My husband absolutely LOVED it and we scarfed it down for dinner one night and lunch the next day. Thanks for a great recipe!

Get a Husband Brunswick Stew

Reviewed: Jun. 14, 2010
This stew was awesome! I don't have to drive all the way to Georgia next time I want some Brunswick stew! I used all shredded chicken, a little extra Kraft Honey Hickory BBQ sauce, 2 cans of creamed corn, 1 can of Niblet corn, 1 cup each frozen okra and lima beans. It was terrrific! I had to freeze a whole gallon freezer bag of this stuff AFTER my husband and I had it for dinner and I sent some in our lunch boxes for today (with an extra serving for my coworker who always tastes my experiments!). I served mine with some sweet cornbread. Delicious!

Peppy's Pita Bread

Reviewed: Jun. 10, 2010
Well, I didn't think I could pull it off...but I did!! This recipe is perfect! I did add some garlic powder to the dough to make garlic pitas. I also put a pyrex bowl full of water on the bottom rack while baking. Once out of the oven, I left them on a counter under damp towels. The ones we had at dinner were slightly "crispier" than I had hoped...but the ones I had with leftovers were PERFECT! I would suggest making them so that they have a few hours to resoften after baking until browned. Or maybe I'll try to paper bag thing next time. I didn't have any on hand at the time. I'll double the batch next time!

Easy Honey Mustard Mozzarella Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 10, 2010
I loved this recipe! It was so easy to make and I thought the honey mustard sauce was absolutely marvelous. I may have been a little heavy handed with the dijon, but my husband and our guest didn't seem to mind either. I will definitely make this again!
