Special Butterscotch Chip Cookies in a Jar

The taste is great but I think the directions for the recipient leave something to be desired - should read 1/2 cup softened butter (i think some people are using melted, which is why their cookies have no shape). Otherwise, wonderful recipe!!

Stir-Fried Shrimp with Snow Peas and Ginger

It was very good - I did what other reviewers suggested & doubled the sauce & tripled the ginger & garlic. I also highly suggest the red pepper flakes if you like spice! Thanks for the recipe!

Thai Pineapple Chicken Curry

Wow, this was great - I followed others' suggestions and it was perfect. I only used 1 can of coconut milk, and once it was simmering in the pan, I added a slurry of 1 Tbsp. cornstarch and 1 Tbsp water to thicken the sauce. Used 2 1/2 chicken breasts (3 would be fine), 2 Tbsp. fish sauce and only cooked the vegetables for 3 minutes and it was DELICIOUS. Next time I might use 1/2 cup of pineapple instead. Thanks for the recipe!

Chocolate Candy Bar Cake

This is fabulous - the only changes I made: Instead of nuts & candy bars, I did crushed oreo cookies (a little less than 1/2 a package), as someone else suggested. For the frosting - I added 1/2 tsp. vanilla. Excellent! I will definitely make it again!

Zesty Slow Cooker Chicken Barbecue

I made this last night and my 7 year old LOVED LOVED LOVED it. I only had fresh chicken breasts (boneless - I used 5). I cooked it on high for 4 hours and the chicken breasts were tender, but not falling apart. I didn't shred it, as others did, but I'm sure that would be good too. I used Hickory Smoked Bulls' Eye BBQ sauce and Newman's Italian dressing. Served with steamed red potatoes & peas.

Old Fashioned Coconut Cream Pie

Excellent - I did what others suggested and substituted 1/3 c. cornstarch for the flour, and I did half half & half and half coconut milk. I think the only change I'll make next time is to use untoasted coconut (freezer section) inside the pie instead of toasted.

Best Bread Machine Bread

I ignored the few bad reviews to my peril - this bread is pretty bland and you CAN taste the oil! I like my bread to be dense and flavorful - this one had a little bit of "Wonder Bread" taste, to my mind.

Sesame Beef

I loved this, even though I didn't have any sesame seeds! I didn't find a need to double the sauce, the recipe was perfect as is. Since I didn't have sesame seeds, though, I used sesame oil instead of vegetable oil. It IS a sweet recipe, but that's what Sesame Beef is supposed to be - and it's delicious! Thanks!

Paul's Pumpkin Bars

Wow, I love these! I took other reviewers recommendations - I did 1 less egg, halved the baking soda and baking powder and added 1/2 tsp nutmeg, 1/2 tsp. cloves and 1/4 tsp. ginger. Baked in a jelly roll pan, it did have a bar like consistency and the flavor was great! Just used Duncan Hines' cream cheese frosting as I didn't have time to make my own, and it was excellent! Thanks!

Pasta with Broccoli and Bacon

Really, really good! There's just two things I would do differently next time: 1) Add 2 more slices bacon 2) Don't brown the garlic until the onion is almost tender, as my garlic got a little overcooked as the grease was still so hot from the bacon. It was a nice fast meal and a good way to get my kids to eat some broccoli!

Sand Art Brownies

Wow - these are great! I made 9 jars of them to give away at Xmas. I baked a batch for myself and agree with the people who made this change: 1/2 cup oil, 2 eggs and 2 T water. Excellent!!
