Fresh Apple Cake II

Reviewed: May 21, 2006
I've been making this cake for years. I love this cake and so does eveyone that tries it. I use half the amount of nuts (we dont care too much for nuts), but I add that same amount of raisins (we like the chewyness it gives). To top it off I brush a little melted margarine to the top of the cake and then sprinkle it with cinnamon and sugar. Perfect! It's more like a coffee cake to me so it's perfect for breakfast.

Cool Whipped Frosting

Reviewed: May 21, 2006
Great cake frosting! I dont care for 'too sweet' frostings so this is a wonderful, lighter change. I use different kinds of pudding mix depending on the kind of cake I'm making, and it always turns out great!

Garlic Mashed Potatoes Secret Recipe

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2005
This is VERY close to recipe used in those famous restaurants. I use any kind of cheese I have on hand, usually cheddar. I also use the minced garlic in the glass jars. It works very well! Thanks to this great recipe, I make the best potatoes in the family and everyone asks me to bring them to our family gatherings. :)

Bacon Cheeseburger Pasta

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2002
I added onions and garlic powder to the beef while it was browning. Also added spaghetti sauce to the soup mixture. It was really good but I think I'll leave the bbq sauce out next time and try it that way.

Burrito Pie

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2002
Wow! What a great meal! We omitted the can of tomatoes and chiles and used diced tomatoes instead to tone down the heat. Everyone here loved it! Great job!

Salt Rising Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2001
I didn't think I would ever find this recipe again. My mother is German and she would make this when I was a child, although kids don't usually like it because it's not the normal white bread that they're used to. This is a great recipe for this very "different" kind of bread. Try it, you'll like it.
