White Chocolate Macadamia Nut Cookies IV

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2015
The cookies burned on the bottom before cooking thoroughly and I like them soft. Overall, expensive to make and the family did not care for them.

Black Magic Cake

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2014
Awesome, did used Chambord as I was out of vanilla.and it is so yummy! And silly me I checked some pointers on another site, that will remain nameless, to make a giant cupcake and put a pan of water under the side the makes the top of the giant cupcake as was suggested. I do not recommend this, the top did not cook! The cake is also very forgiving as I had to put the top back in and was simply able to cut off the top and put it all together.

This may work for some, but did not work at all for me even in a small a batch. My icing is gritty and unusable.

Curried Cashew, Pear, and Grape Salad

Reviewed: May 14, 2014
Absolutely amazing. The seasoning on the nuts really adds interest and the combination of salty with the sweet fruit is delicious. Would recommend placing fruit on top in a decorative fashion as it tends to migrate toward the bottom if tossed into the salad

Cranberry Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2013
This is the perfect cranberry sauce especially with the minor previously suggested changes- 1/2 brown sugar and 1/2 white sugar, 1/4 teaspoon Saigon cinnamon, grated orange rind and 1/8 cup Grand Marnier.

Sour Cream Pound Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2011
Followed other bakers advice and cut sugar to 1 cup. Freezes rather well. Was glad I used tooth pick test. Should not be pale in color, not lightly browned. Going to try adding bourbon for flavoring.

Would not make again. Followed recipe. Would not make again. Not sweet enough. Can taste baking soda. Wished I hadn't used my Georgia peaches in it.

Red Skinned Potato Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2011
This is excellent and my new go to potato salad to take to a picnic. I followed the suggestion to cut the potatoes cut into bite sized pieces seasoned with fresh rosemary, salt and pepper and drizzled with olive oil. I used 1/2 of the mayonnaise cutting the onion early in the day, placing it into the mayonaise to mellow the flavor. I added a very small amount of Dijon mustard and omitted the bacon as it was already too good and didn't need it.
