Mediterranean Kale

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2012
This is different, in a good way! I made the exact recipe and thought it was pretty good... but missing something, so I made a second batch and added about 1/4 tsp of extra lemon, a couple dashes of aged balsamic vinegar, and a small squirt of sriracha! I guess I made it more Asian Kale than Mediterranean! I prefer mine, but the original was good too.

Cocktail Meatballs

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2010
The meatballs by themselves were delicious. Now the sauce.... between my experience and various reviews I read, I think the chili sauce in the recipe needs to be a specific brand. I used Sriracha chili sauce (red sauce, green cap, rooster on the bottle) and I thought 3/4cup sounded like a lot, so I used 1/4 cup. I LOVE spicy foods but my mouth was on fire!! Whatever chili sauce it is in the original recipe must be like ketchup with a pinch of hot. I cannot fathom using 3/4 cup of sriracha chili sauce in this recipe. I will use the meatball recipe again but I do not recommend this sauce recipe.

S'mores Crumb Bars

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2010
This is delicious! I put the graham crackers on both the top & bottom & it's a little messy but I like it. I've kept them in the fridge & I think they're good cold or warmed up. Very simple! Great dish for a small gathering or for kids.

Super-Delicious Zuppa Toscana

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2010
Left out bacon & red pepper, used spicy sausage and kale. Also used half & half instead of heavy cream. Thought it was a bit salty, but still good. I would use less sausage next time.

Spicy Slow Cooker Black Bean Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2010
I'm no expert, but this was like spicy water with black beans when I went to turn it to low. I added another can of black beans, put about 1/3 of the "soup" in the blender, and added cornstarch to thicken it. After all that it was more like a soup. Also, I LOVE spicy foods but this is a little too much.
