My favorite things to cook
I love to cook old fashioned comfort type foods. Desserts are my favorite thing to make and eat.
My favorite family cooking traditions
A day or two before Thanksgiving, we have "pie-a-palooza." Some of the grandkids come over and we bake pies, as well as make homemade maple- apple cranberry sauce for the feast. While the pies are baking, we make place cards, napkin rings and other table decorations.

Irish Potato Candy
Great recipe. To the reveiwer who asked, I always leave mine out of the fridge. After rolling in cinnamon,I leave them on the counter uncovered. When they start to get dried out a bit (an hour or less), i turn them over and let them dry another hour or so before covering. This helps them keep their shape and the inside stays soft and creamy.

Zebra Cake III
Great recipe. Simple, yet looks and tastes like it was a lot of work. I used Anna's chocolate mint thins, a Swedish cookie, I found at my local supermarket. They were on sale, so I thought why not? It was absolutely wonderful. I made it for my Bible study group and everyone loved it!

Pure Maple Candy
This came out perfect; pure melt in your mouth maple heaven! Be sure to use a thermometer. I am an experienced candy maker, but at the price of maple syrup, I didn't want to take any chances on it not coming out just right.
