One Bowl Chocolate Cake III

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2011
this has become my standard chocolate cake recipe. my whole family loves it, as well as all the guests who've shared it. i've done it iced, glazed, or just topped in powdered sugar. i do agree, it tastes better with coffee in lieu of water, and the better the cocoa, the better the flavor! love, love, love this cake!

Cajun Appetizer Meatballs

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2010
This was absolutely my favorite holiday appetizer! Everyone ate them. They were the first thing gone from the table, and the first thing I ran out of. I was so curious about the flavor of the peach preserves and bbq sauce, and I'm glad I was! Really love these. I'll be making these often. When I made the next batch just for our family, I found they reheat very very well in a saucepan. Just love them, thank you!

Baked Asparagus with Balsamic Butter Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2010
I've made this many different ways, but I prefer this method. For one, I NEVER had to check on the texture of the asparagus. It's a perfect recipe!

I really enjoyed this. Great option for salmon. I did skip the thyme, personally.

Indian Chicken Curry II

Reviewed: Jul. 11, 2011
as many other cooks said, this is a great BASE recipe to play with. i used a lot more curry and garlic, diced tomatoes instead of tomato sauce, no coconut milk, and no bay leaf. i reduce the cinnamon and the sugar substantially. i like lentils in carrots in it, personally. i start mine HOURS before i want to eat it, so that it melds more. the yogurt only goes in the last 10 minutes or so. i think if you're going to make this, you want to take your time and taste as you go. i haven't found a better BASE recipe.

Shortbread Cookies III

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2011
i made this as directed, as is. my whole family found these to be very dry and flavorless. i made the second batch edible by using the jam insert, and the third batch edible by dipping them in chocolate. i will not make this recipe again.

Chocolate Gingerbread Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2010
They were okay. I enjoyed the ease of the recipe. I enjoyed a variation from plain sugar cookies and gingerbread men. To me, these are an excellent choice for anyone who wants to decorate something, but the taste is a bit bland for something chocolate.

Extra Easy Fudge

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2010
While I can't argue that the children ate it up, the adults, including myself, did not like it. It was difficult to cut without squishing, even after it sat in the fridge overnight, and it stuck to our fingers when we ate it.
