French Bread Rolls to Die For

Reviewed: May 2, 2010
These are really very easy to make, and they look great, but they don't have a lot of taste. Nothing wrong with the recipe, I just was expecting more of a pronounced taste. Thanks for the recipe!

Cream Cheese Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2010
These were very good cookies. They held up well to being iced, and the flavor was very nice, if perhaps a little too subtle for my taste. Thanks for the recipe!

Addictive Sweet Potato Burritos

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2010
I don't know that I would call them addictive, but they were really surprisingly good. Next time I make these, I will make the beans spicier, as the sweetness of the sweet potatoes kind of took over. The only thing I did differently was to leave the kidney beans whole, as I did not think the overall texture would be pleasiant with everything mashed. All in all, this is a recipe I will make again, so thank you very much for the recipe!

Quick Yeast Rolls

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2010
First time I ever made yeast rolls, so I am not sure what they are supposed to be like. These tasted very good, although the texture was a bit rough. I subbed butter for shortening but otherwise followed recipe.

Grilled Asparagus

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2010
This was really very good. I did half according to the recipe and added a little balsamic to the other half according to some of the reviews and I think the batch with the balsamic was better. Thanks for the recipe!

Mushroom and Mascarpone Ravioli

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2010
Woohoo, these are amazing, and I had to use dried thyme so I imagine they would be even better with fresh. I made tortellini using only one wrapper for each. This is pretty labour intensive, so I doubt that I would make it for a dinner party, but cooking for 1 or 2 people would be absolutely worth it. Tnanks for the recipe!

Tantalizing Turkey and Blue Cheese Meatballs

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2010
I made these a while ago and realised that I forgot to rate them. These were really very good. I had no jalapenos on hand, so I subbed with green tabasco sauce instead. I think I added a bit more blue cheese, just because I love it. Thanks for the recipe!

Divine Summertime Chicken Sandwich

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2010
I forgot to grill the bread, and used snow pea shoots instead of lettuce but I don't think it changed the recipe dramatically. This was really very good. Thanks for the recipe!

Virginia Clise Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2010

Amazingly Easy Irish Soda Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2010
I don't know what went wrong with this bread but it did not work for me. I followed the recipe exactly. I have a brand new oven and the temp is not an issue but this just would not cook for me. After 75 minutes, the outside is dry and crumbled and the inside is still not cooked properly. I see that it came out great for almost everyone else, so I have to assume the problem was with me, but I don't know what I could have done differently.

Strawberry Spinach Salad I

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2010
Not sure if I would use the poppy seeds again in this dressing, and I normally love poppy seeds. Cut the sugar to 1/4 like other reviewer's suggested. Pretty and tasty salad!

Evin's Indian Apricot Chicken

This was absolutely yummy. Used peach preserves instead of apricot because I really thought they were apricot preserves *doh* but otherwise followed recipe exactly! Thank you very much for the recipe Evin!

Pear Apple Kuchen

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2010
This was really good and might even have been better if I hadn't lost a good part of it to the bottom of my oven. My fault, not the recipe's, as I overestimated the depth of my casserole dish. Mental note to self - when in doubt, the answer is NO, this baking dish is NOT big enough. I followed the recipe exactly, although I forgot to add the pecans, which in this case was a good thing since they would also have been on the bottom of my oven). Thank you for the recipe LadySparkle! Next time I won't mess it up, and this is definitely worth making again!

French Bread with the Kitchen Aid

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2010
I can only imagine how great this will look when I don't mess it up by A) not pinching the edges together and B) not cutting the slit too too deep. The taste is subtle, the texture was perfect. I misted the oven walls for the first five minutes. Thanks for the recipe, the instructions, and the last minute coaching!

Clone of a Cinnabon

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2010
Woohoo! These are sooo yummy. The recipe is very forgiving, since I forgot to put the salt in and they took an hour and a half to rise (all my fault) but they still came out fantastic. Thanks for the recipe!

Pumpkin Pie Pudding

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2010
I just realised that I forgot to rate this after making it. I substituted ginger, cloves, cinnamon and fresh ground nutmeg as I had no pumpkin pie spice. I probably doubled what was called for, but then I do that in my pumpkin pie recipe as well, so it is more to do with my personal preference than a lack in the recipe. I used the biscuit mix recipe from this site. I really liked this warm served with whipped cream, but I loved it cold, the flavors were more pronounced. Thanks for the recipe!

Garlic-Lemon Double Stuffed Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2010
Substituted panko bread crumbs with added italian seasoning, otherwise I followed the recipe exactly. The chicken did not brown very much, so it didn't look very appetizing but it tasted pretty good. Thanks for the recipe!
