Grandmother's Buttermilk Cornbread

This is delicious. I added a pinch of cinnamon and chile pepper and it was fantastic. Also... I browned the butter... I always brown the butter... it makes everything better.

Fabulous! These are soft, gooey and the perfect snow day treat. The overnight rise means that it's only an hour from wake-up to breakfast! I added a little extra cinnamon to the filling and I rubber the dough with a few tablespoons of butter before adding the filling. I also used a cream cheese frosting. YUM!!!

Basic Crepes

Easy and delicious; exactly what I was looking for! I did add a bit more milk to make the batter more "crepe" and less "pancake". I filled these with Nutella and topped them with a berry reduction. This was a perfect for a snow day; we didn't need to brave the snow for an amazing breakfast! I did add a bit more milk to make the batter more "crepe" and less "pancake".

Peppermint Chocolate Fudge

This recipe is so simple that it's actually embarrassing. I made a some to bring into work and everyone loved it! they thought it took much longer than it did. I made it as is which was great but I also made one batch with white chocolate in place of all of the chocolate. It turned out unbelievable, it made the peppermint flavor pop!!

Kay's Spaghetti and Lasagna Sauce

delish! i made this w/o beef and it was amazing. I'm planning on trying it next with. I recommend making sure the veggies are chopped up pretty fine and that they are cooked enough before adding the tomatoes. I plan on keeping this in the rotation. I froze the remaining sauce and i'm excited to remember it's there to eat it again!!

Simple Scones

absolutely wonderful. I just made these and they came out perfectly. So easy and so yummy! Grating the butter wasn't as much work as other posters suggested. I added some cinnamon to the dry mix and some vanilla to the sour cream/egg mix. i also used craisins. I plan on making these over and over again. i can't wait to try different variations!

Lentils and Rice with TVP

This was excellent. I added a diced potato instead of TVP and it was excellent. The only problem is that the rice did not cook all the way. Next time i make it I plan on partially cooking the rice in the 2.5C of water and then adding it to the pot. i also simmered it covered for 10 minutes and uncovered for 15 minutes instead of letting it sit. Overall a very flavorful dish and i will be making it again
