Cauliflower Pizza Crust

Reviewed: Jul. 30, 2013
The crust was a little cheesy for my taste, and I could really taste the egg. I think this is a fabulous idea and with some tweaking of the ratio, will be a real winner(more cauliflower, reduce the cheese slightly). Instead of boiling the cauliflower I nuked it for 8 minutes and then soaked up some of the excess moisture with a paper towel (friends said it was a bit soggy). I baked at 425 for just under 15 minutes and the "golden brown"ness was perfect.

Bacon Wrapped Barbeque Shrimp

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2011
We followed the recipe EXACTLY and neither myself or my bacon-loving fiance could eat more than one. I think these might actually be worthwhile if grilled, but if not, they were wayyyyy too fatty because unlike normal cooking of bacon, the bacon just gets soggy instead of crisping up.

Chinese Chicken Fried Rice II

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2011
This was a great way to use up some leftovers in the fridge. The cooked rice was leftover from some Chinese takeout we got last weekend (does anyone ever eat ALL the white rice that comes with it?) and the cooked chicken meat was leftover from chicken quesidillas from earlier this week. Very quick and easy. I omitted the butter and instead just drizzled some oil over the pan before starting. I also added some leftover corn from the fridge.

Savory Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2011
Yes, I am one of those people that changes the recipe and then still gives this one 5 stars. I can't help it! Here's what I did different from the recipe: 1. Omitted orange marmalade (didn't have any in the house) 2. Instead, put about 1-2 tbsp of brown sugar (to still add the sweetness) 3. Added a little extra mustard instead of putting in the ground mustard 4. Added chopped garlic (2 or 3 cloves depending on how much you love garlic) The sauce was great!!! I will def be making this again!

Chicken Satay

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2010
This is amazing!! I would give it a 4 as written but here are the changes I have made to make it even better! (combination of suggestions of others and my own instinct): -Double the p.b. (4 tbsp) -Half the curry (1 tbsp) -Reduce the soy sauce to 1/3 cup (down from 1/2c.) -Add extra garlic (I usually do 4 cloves) YUM!!! I've done it grilled but I'm going to see if I can get to taste just as good baked.

Keema (Indian-Style Ground Meat)

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2010
Caution!!! Very spicy! Tastes great but is definitely not for the faint of taste buds. Next time I will cut the garam masala in half.

Cinnabun Cookies

Oh my goodness I can't rave about these cookies enough!! It took me a while to get the hang of the rolling part, but third time was the charm and they came out prettier than the picture!!!

Baked Honey Mustard Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2010
My boyfriend was cautious about this at first because he doesn't like mustard, but he gobbled it up and took the rest to work! I will absolutely make this again! (I used part spicy brown mustard and part French's yellow.... gave just enough kick without being overpowering)

Simple Ranchy Breaded Fish Fillets

This is a staple in our house! A great twist on good ol' breaded fish!!! (I too, bake it... and a spritz of lemon juice always makes it even better!)

OREO® Triple Layer Chocolate Pie

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2010
I have been looking for the boxed Oreo Pie kit in the stores for the loooongest time because it is my boyfriend's favorite, however I haven't been able to find it in stores anymore. This was a great substitute, he said it was even better than the boxed stuff!!!

New Orleans Barbequed Shrimp

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2010
I made this as written, and as is, it gets 3 stars. However, I think it would be better if you decrease the italian dressing and add the Old Bay that some have suggested. P.S. I don't get where the "Barbequed" part comes in...

Gnocchi I

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2010
I've never been a fan of gnocchi before but since my boyfriend loves it, I decided to give it a shot. This was better than any restaurant gnocchi dish I've ever sampled! I went with a few of the suggestions to add a little flavor to the dough before cooking (I added fresh garlic, oregano, and a little Italian seasoning) It was perfect! Be careful though, it takes much longer to prepare than stated...

Asian Lettuce Wraps

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2010
Waaaaaay too much ses. oil. It overpowered the recipe. With a few adjustments this may be OK, but there are so many more recipes that are GREAT, that I will not be making this again.

Baked Teriyaki Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2010
The sauce was great except it was VERY gingery. I doubled the garlic and added red pepper. Next time I will add more red pepper and decrease the ginger slightly. Yum!

White Cheese Chicken Lasagna

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2010
This was amazing!! I will definitely make it again, but I will add more spices. I already added double the garlic and added some Italian seasoning, but think it needed just a little more. Also, just a warning in terms of the prep time. The ingredients listed are already "prepared" (meaning it looks like chopping, shredding, and chicken cooking are not factored into the prep time) So just a heads up if you are in a time crunch!!

Shrimp and Asparagus Fettuccine

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2010
This was absolutely amazing. I usually never follow recipes as they are written, but this is one that (aside from the asparagus cooking time as others have mentioned) nothing needs to change! We are from the Baltimore, MD area and so Old Bay is a staple in our house and this is one my boyfriend and all his friends LOVED!!!! Definitely will make again!

Italian Butter

This is amazing and tastes just like what you would get in a fancy Italian restaurant. Plus, since it makes a lot, and it keeps well, you have plenty on hand for the future!

Coconut Orange Cupcakes

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2010
I don't like coconut so instead of the topping, I frosted them with homemade buttercream frosting and they were AWESOME. I kept some unfrosted for some people and they said they were sweet enough without (but I have a mega sweet tooth!). The oranges give a more sophisticated/ gourmet twist to ordinary cupcakes. YUM

Butterscotch Oatmeal Cookies I

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2010
the proportions on the ingredients are all wrong. They were very crumbly as dough and came out very hard in the oven. I will be sticking to the recipe on the bag of butterscotch morsels from now on.
