Mari's Banana Cupcakes

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2013
These cupcakes were amazing!! They were so moist and the flavor was beyond great! I followed the recipe exactly an made cream cheese icing for them. I took these to a potluck "dessert night" and they were a hit...definitely the best dessert there. Thanks for sharing :)

Sweet Restaurant Slaw

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2013
Oh my dear God! This is to die for! I made it yesterday for a 4th of July party today, but I keep eating it and am not going to have enough for the party today..it's THAT good! I used Hellmann's mayo, reduced the sugar to 1/4 cup, didn't use poppy seeds because i don't have them, and i put some black pepper on. I could see how 1/2 cup sugar would be waaayyy too sweet. I will make this over and over. I can't wait to try it on pulled pork....will be amazing! Thanks for sharing :)

Chocolate Cheesecake

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2013
To die for. I will not even try another chocolate cheesecake recipe. The only thing i changed was that i used about 22 or23 crushed oreos with about 3 tbsp butter for the crust....i just thought it went better than the graham cracker crumbs. I will make this again and again. Its one of my husband's favorites, and he is picky, so when he requests this i know it is good :)

Libby's® Pumpkin Roll with Cream Cheese Filling

To die for! I followed everything to a T, except I only used 1/4 tsp cloves, as I feel they can be overpowering. Came out perfect :)

Hamburger Steak with Onions and Gravy

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2012
My husband and I loved these. They were simple to make, but tasted great! I got 6 patties out of this recipe. I pretty much followed it to a T, except that I doubled the gravy, which I thought was wonderful. I also fried the onion first, then the patties, and I added cornstarch to the beef broth and thickened it that way. Then I added the onion and patties and let them simmer. I used reduced sodium beef broth and it was not salty at all, which is great because I don't like food too salty - I'd rather add as I go along. I will definitely make these again. Thanks for sharing :)

Sauteed Apples

Reviewed: May 12, 2012
To die for...these tasted just like the ones we get in a restaurant! I followed it to a T, except that I halved the recipe for my husband and I. Served with grilled NY strip steaks and baked potatoes. Will definitely make again. Thanks :)

Kickin' London Broil with Bleu Cheese Butter

Reviewed: May 12, 2012
Even though my husband and I love blue cheese and thought it would be a hit, we felt it was just ok. I had 2 NY strips frozen, so that's what I used...not sure if I will make again. We seem to just like our steaks marinated.

Crispy Orange Beef

Reviewed: May 12, 2012
Awesome!! My husband said 'it looks just like Chinese" when I served it lol...I made a few changes. I doubled the sauce, used half the sugar, didn't have OJ concentrate, so I used regular (about 2/3 cup), I didn't double the vinegar, just used enough for a single serving of sauce, didn't have fresh ginger, so I used 2 teaspoons of ground ginger, and I completely forgot about the salt, and I don't feel it needed any. I will definitely make again. The sauce is excellent. I would like to try it with the OJ concentrate next time.

Banana Cake VI

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2012
10 stars plus!!!! This was the best, most moist banana cake EVER! The only changes I made were that I used 2 cups of sugar (I may use 1.5 next time) and I used 2 cups of powdered sugar for the frosting. To die for! It took about 1 hr 40 min total...my new favorite banana cake!! Thanks so much, Cindy :-)

Haddock Au Gratin

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2012
Can I give this 10 stars?! My husband and I loved this! I used 1/2 & 1/2 and 2% milk and it was still really creamy. I only used a pound and a half of haddock for just the 2 of us but kept the amount of sauce the same. There were no leftovers!! It was AMAZING and is now one of our favorites. Thank you so much :)

S.O.P.P.

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2012
Oh....my....word!! We loved this, with only a few changes. I only made half for my husband and I, and it was still plenty. First I used smoked turkey sausage to cut the fat. I roasted baby red potatoes but seasoned them with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper and some basil. While they were roasting I cut up everything else. I kept that the same but I added 2 cloves of garlic. After that was fried I added the potatoes. It was one of the best dinners we had in a while! It quickly became a favorite....i took leftovers for lunch today and it was still just as wonderful. Thanks sooo much :-)

Broiled Tilapia Parmesan

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2012
My husband and I really enjoyed this! I love how quick and easy it was to make. Followed it to a T except that I used cod since my husband isn't a fan of tilapia and I didn't have any celery seed. I love the topping...will make again. Thanks ;-)

Soft Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2012
Awesome cookies! I was never a fan of oatmeal cookies until these. The only modifications I made were that I reduced the white sugar to 1/2 cup, didn't chill the dough and I didn't flatten them, I just flattened them slightly with my hand after I rolled them, and they came out great. 10 min was perfect for me. I actually iced half of them (husband's request) and left the others plain. For the icing I just used powdered sugar and milk, and they were great both ways. I didn't find them too sweet at all, even with the icing, and they're still soft after 4 days. This is a recipe I will keep and make often. Thanks!

Easy OREO Truffles

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2012
These were so much fun and easy to make, plus they were awesome!! I put them in the freezer about 20 min before dipping them in the chocolate. I put a drop of canola oil in the chocolate to make it smoother. I had no problem rolling them and they stayed together perfectly....will make again for sure...thanks!

PHILADELPHIA Pumpkin Swirl Cheesecake

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2011
Sooo good!!! My husband and I got a slice of swirled pumpkin cheesecake form the grocery store and surprisingly he loved it...he can be picky. He asked me to make one so I picked this one, which he liked better :-) I used about 20 or so Nabisco gingersnaps since the ones they called for were nowhere to be found, and I eliminated the pecans. It was so creamy and had just enough pumpkin flavor. Definitely a new fall favorite!

Garlic Chicken Stir Fry

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2011
Excellent stir fry....I did make a few changes. I eliminated the salt, I didn't have peanut oil so I used sesame oil instead. I also used fresh broccoli instead of cabbage, one large onion instead of two and I used about a tablespoon of brown sugar instead of white since I don't like things too sweet. One tablespoon of cornstarch was enough. I added water chestnuts as well since my husband loves them. I cooked the chicken in my wok first, took it out then did the veggies. I combined everything at the end. I will definitely make this again.

Strawberry Avocado Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2011
This was fantastic, and the fact that it was actually healthy is a plus! I used about teaspoon of truvia instead of sugar and only 2 teaspoons of honey since I don't like things too sweet, used almonds instead of pecans because that's what I had (I love almonds!) and served it over baby spinach. Great for lunch...will make again...thanks!!

Very good....the only changes I made were that I added more dill, reduced the onion to 1/2 cup and used canola oil. One cup of onion seemed like waaay to much. Will make again!
