Easy Apple Crisp

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2011
I thought, how can something so easy be good. Boy was I wrong! I brought this over to my Mom and Dad's, they were over the moon with it..this coming from a woman who has been cooking for 70 of her 85 yrs, and known as one of the best cooks near and far. She loved that the dish was not overly sweet, I used whatever apples I had, not necessarily Granny Smith. I also added some cinn. to the apples on the bottom layer. My Mom made me write down the recipe so she could also make it! Sooo easy!

Jiffy Jambalaya

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2011
Loved this recipe, something different and easy on busy nights. I read the reviews and did add a can of rinsed black beans. Along w/ the can of diced tomatoes, I had a ton of fresh tomatoes from the garden so I chopped one up and threw it in. Very nice dinner w/ crusty bread. Will def make again!

Cabbage Rolls II

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2011
good basic recipe, but what my mom always did so not to waste, was shred remaining lettuce , about 2 c. and add it to the sauce. I used 1 28 oz can sauce and 1 28 oz can of plum tomatoes w/ juice (make sure to cut up the tomatoes.) You can also sprinkle 1/2 cup of rice in the sauce. When all is cooked through, every bit of this dish is finished. Don't be afraid to spice up the sauce also. I include garlic in almost everything!

Seafood Chowder

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2011
This chowder was pretty good! When I make a choder I save the juices from the fish and scallops etc and add it to the broth. I also thickened it with potato flakes..not too much just to the thickness you like. I didn't add the curry (not alot of people are a fan). I made this low fat using reduced fat canned milk and 1 % milk. I omited the bacon altogether. The lowfat version is awesome!

Restaurant-Style Buffalo Chicken Wings

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2010
made this for the first time for Super Bowl Sunday, they were an instant hit! It is essential that you let these refridgerate for a long time, if not the flour will slide off the wings when deep frying. I used chicken tenders for the kids and bone-in wings for the adults, both worked perfectly!

sxcellent! to add even more flavor I used the juice from the frozen blueberries in place of the water for the sauce. I also crushed the blueberries for the much better!
