Beef Stew VI

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2013
This is the best stew! I have made stew in a slow cooker for years but this was the best. I followed the recipe as written but used more corn starch than called for to make it extra thick. The meat and carrots and potatoes were so tender and delicious. Thanks for a great recipe!

Zucchini Tomato Pie

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2011
This was very easy and tasty! I added fresh mushrooms and a little cheddar cheese but that was the only change I made. I, too sauteed my onions and zucchini beforehand like others suggested. Good idea;it was really a nice, meatless supper.

Seasoned Crackers

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2011
Very easy, the whole family loves 'em! I made them according to the recipe, and also made some using Hidden Valley Spicy Ranch and garlic powder. The kids want to use taco mix! If some find 3/4 cup oil too much, use 2 packages of crackers and keep everything else the same. Way less oily and still tastes great.

Mushroom Soup Without Cream

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2011
This was great! I didn't have any leeks, so I left them out, and the only thing I added that was different was a packet of onion-mushroom soup mix. I may try some white wine next time, but my husband said it was great as is.

Sweet Russian Cabbage Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2010
Great soup. I cooked the meat first and used ground Italian sausage. I also used 1/4 cup cider vinegar and 1/4 cup sugar. Otherwise I kept to the recipe. I make this all winter long and my family loves it. Thanks!

Meatball Stew

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2010
This was good! I have a large family so I used 2 bags of meatball, 2 bags of frozen stew veggies(carrots, potato, celery),a can of tomato soup, a can of beef gravy,1 packet of beefy onion soup mix, 2 cups of water and a can of stewed tomatoes. I did not see the need for the bouillion with the dry soup mix. Cooked on high for 5 hours and on low for about 2. It was great...not salty at all. I did not add any other seasoning becauase others had reported the salty taste. Will make again!

Lemonade Cake II

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2010
Very good, lemony cake. My whole family loved this cake...the kids said it "tastes just like lemonade". I use Baker's Joy to spray my cake pans so I did not have trouble with the cake falling apart. Also, my gang did not find it to be as super-sweet as some had said. It was just right, with a nice lemon flavor. Will make this again!

Spicy Refrigerator Dill Pickles

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2010
Great pickels! I used pickling salt, and like others, reduced the sugar. I canned these and they are really good.

Chicken and Rice Casserole I

Reviewed: May 8, 2010
This is a big hit at my house. I used Lipton Onion-Mushroom instead of regular onion soup mix and it helped cut down on the "oniony" taste. I skip the can of mushrooms for the kids, who don't like the extra mushrooms.

Campbell's Kitchen Easy Chicken Noodle Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2010
This was really good! Ihad some cooked chicken breast so I used that, and used frozen mixed`veggies instead of peas (which my kids hate). I also added cheese. This was liked by the whole family, including my very-picky 11 year old son!
