Beef and Guinness® Stew

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2015
First attempt to make this stew and it was awesome! Had a St Patrick's day dinner for my husband and it was a hit! Served with Diana ' s colcannon, amazingly easy Irish soda bread and corned beef with cabbage. This will be the new St Patrick's day meal!

Marinated Pretzels

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2015
I felt the dill was overpowering and could barely taste the ranch. I also felt the pretzels tasted burnt. Next batch I will up the ranch, lower the dill and garlic powder to be safe. And taste before baking and use a lower temp in the oven.

Pickled Jalapenos and Carrots

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2015
Glad I found this recipe! We eat these at Roberto ' s taco shop all the time. It's a little sweeter, but still good. I added cauliflower because I had it, and it goes with carrots. P.S. had these again after they were chilled and they were better tasting! Possibly better than Roberto's! Thanks for the recipe!

Irish Egg Rolls

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2014
Made this with our leftovers this year, just added a little salt and pepper and used lumpia wrappers which are a little thinner than egg roll wrappers and fry up crispier. They were tasty! Used either yellow mustard or Dijon for dipping. I'm not sure why other reviewers were bland? Maybe I had a little more meat in mine, and I used the carrots, cabbage, potatoes and celery that were cooked in the corned beef liquid. I also chopped up a fresh onion. I'd make these again if I have leftovers.

Amazingly Easy Irish Soda Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2014
Id never made soda bread before and ended up making this recipe. I had baked the irresistible recipe and although good too, the difference is the buttermilk. I like how the crust is crusty with the butter and buttermilk spred over the top. And its a lighter loaf. Its so good with the beef irish stew I made.got lots of compliments, and its going to be our staple for St Paddys day!

Mock Caviar

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2013
I've been making this amazingly simple dip for over 10yrs. The first time I had this dip was at a potluck. I didn't know who made it to ask for the recipe. I just knew there were olives in it. I scoured the Internet and found this recipe, I don't think it was on this site though.. Every time I make it, I get compliments and requests for the recipe. it's a family favorite and now my daughters serve it up. The only thing I do a little different is I process everything in a mini chopper to make it a little finer, so there aren't big chunks of tomato or chilies.

Tzatziki Sauce

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2013
We love this dip, I've made it a few times and it has never been watery. I use English cucumbers and fage yogurt. Not sure if that makes a difference, but I know you do have to take out the seeds for sure. I always eyeball the measurements and add more to taste, sometimes we can't wait the hour, but the favors do pop if we can. I also just noticed that the recipe calls for putting ingredients in the food processor LOL, I've never done that because we like it chunky. This is close to restaurants we've been to, every restaurant has slight variations, I think you just have to add or take away to get the flavor you want.

Roasted Green Chile Stew

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2013
I had Anaheim peppers and cubed pork for stew that I was looking to use and found this recipe. It turned out excellent! I know I can always find a recipe on allrecipes my go to website! I did have a few changes. First, I had a busy day ahead, and I knew the pork would not be as tender as I'd like it in 2 hrs. I decided to use a slow cooker, I browned the pork with spices, onion and garlic, put in slow cooker with water on high for 6 hrs. I didn't intend to be away that long, so add more than the required liquid or cook on low, because I had to add more water when I got back. I boiled the potatoes before adding to slow cooker along with chilies and tomatoes and let it cook the last 2 hrs until the tomatoes softened up. I also put 1T cornstarch paste to thicken it a bit. the meat was so tender and the favors were amazing. I have saved this recipe! Thanks! One more thing, I did not add Serrano chilies, but I may add chipotle in adobo next time!

Sandy's Special Beef Marinade

Reviewed: May 16, 2011
Absolutely Delicious! I used about 5 lbs chuck steak that comes 3 to a pack. Because I never think a day ahead, I grilled one of the steaks after about 6 hrs. The aroma was wonderful! We could only imagine how the other 2 would be after marinating overnight! We grilled them for brunch, and OMG! The steak was tender, juicy and so flavorful! I thin the liquid smoke helps, so don't leave it out! I varied a tad from the recipe, because I didn't have grape seed oil, I used olive oil. I also ran low on Worcestershire sauce so only had little over 1/4c and lastly I used a whole lime, otherwise would have had to find another recipe to use up the rest of it. I am adding this to my recipe box and will use it over and over! Thanks!

Spicy Layered Bean Dip

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2011
I just made this dip and it came out great! I had just made a batch of refried beans without the refry (found on this website also!) and black beans. I was looking for a bean dip and decided to try this. I added some taco seasoning to the bean portion, and I didn't drain the salsa and mine didn't come out runny. This will be a family favorite since I am always making pinto and black beans!

Eggnog Pancakes

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2010
I just made this recipe, and it was excellent! I like the texture, and the height these pancakes get! similiar to the Truckstop buttermilk pancakes I also got from this website, which my family loves! Oh, I did add a tad of milk because it was a little thick. I can't believe I can only make this seasonally though!
