About this Cook
I am a southern girl. I love to cook and experiment with just about anything! I started cooking when i was about 7, but was doing prep work (mixing batters, spraying baking sheets etc.) before then. I currently have 3 brothers and 2 sisters, I am the oldest. In my free time I come to this website!
My favorite things to cook
I looove baking! But I am always open to different and new techniques from all around the world!
My favorite family cooking traditions
We don't have any:( I am trying to set some though, but I am only 14. Maybe I can do it with my family one day:) Oh, I also have a habit with baking/making things with evaporated milk. Any recipe that calls for milk, that's what I use and EVERYTHING made with it comes out GREAT! Mac and cheese, bread dough, cakes, pies etc.
My cooking triumphs
Bread (used to be hard, now soft and fluffy), pie crusts (don't even get me started on THAT), custard pies, and more to come I'm sure.
My cooking tragedies
Home-made cookies. Cookies from scratch are such a hassle for me! I don't even like to try anymore, soo annoying! Also a red velvet cake! Aarrrgghh! Any tips? By the way, this section is still under construction?

Asian Orange Chicken
The chicken was wonderful! Although, I may have added a tad too much ginger and red pepper flakes, my fault. Also, I feel the recipe needs a little less brown sugar and a little more soy sauce. Just to boost the superb flavor! Also, apple cider vinegar is the closest sub for rice vinegar.

Cornbread Muffins I
Delicious! I had some corn on the cob already cooked, so I just used those kernels. I also blended them up, so as to make them creamier, and it might have been over 3/4 cups. I made corn dog muffins out of these by pan frying a few hot dogs, slicing them diagnally(sp?) and putting them at the bottom of pan. Were sweet, corn tasting and everyone loved them!

One Bowl Chocolate Cake III
Hmmmmmm...I made these into cupcakes and they sorta looked like brownies:/ I wanted to fill them, but they were too flat to be filled. Still good, though!
