About this Cook
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook and try new foods. Budget friendly meals can be challenging, but fun. Flipping through recipe books and online recipes can take your tastebuds all over the world if you let it!
My favorite family cooking traditions
I still feel more natural eating salad AFTER dinner, but have met in the middle and mostly include it with the meal.
My cooking triumphs
I finally mastered the art of making kofta. Its a delicate balance of the right seasonings, and not bursting into flames on the grill lol...
My cooking tragedies
Oh boy... once I made this really bizarre dish I saw a lady make on TV and it literally set the bottom of my oven on fire from the grease pouring out of it. It was some kind of pasta in a sort of ground meat shell in a springform pan. I laugh about it now but it wasn't so funny then!

Rainbow Cookies
Very authentic flavor :) I miss Italian cookies from the bakeries in NY. Brought a taste of home to my new home in MN. Go easy on the raspberry jam and be sure to spread your batter all the way to the ends of your pan, it won't spread on its own.

Agedashi-esque Tofu
Pretty good! I never had tofu before and this was a good first try :) I did squeeze out a lot of the liquid first though and I think it made a big difference. Instead of drizzling the hoisin which is thick and not easy to drizzle, I put the tofu in a large bowl and stirred it around with the hoisin. I served it with rice with veggies mixed in with a drizzle of sesame oil on top.
