Salmon with Tomatoes

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2012
I just finished cooking this dish and let me say it was great! My boyfriend is sooo picky when it comes to food. I just wanted him to taste a little before bed & he ate MY WHOLE plate. I served this over brown rice. This was actually my first time eating Salmon in my lifetime and it was so good! I didn't follow the exact seasoning measurementsI just added in how much I felt it needed (same ingredients though). I didn't have garlic oil so I used olive oil and diced up some fresh garlic. Did not have dill weed, did not miss it. Didn''t have paprika either, substituted for a bit of cayenne. No lemon juice, used lemon & pepper seasoning. Used olive oil as well, instead of butter. This turned out great. I've been buying fish lately hoping to find some good recipes and this one is great!!!

Beef Pot Roast

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2012
Just made this last night and let me tell you it was sooooo good. It was so juicy and flavorful. Also, as another reviewer stated, I had no problem with dryness. I washed my pot roast b4 I used it and dried it with a paper towel. After that I just put them into my Dutch oven and let them sit on each side for 4 minutes (timed) I did not touch them, except when added my seasonings to them while cooking which is onion powder, accent, worchestershire sauce and pepper. Instead of using 2 garlic cloves I used one large and then some minced garlic I had in the Fridge. I left them in the Dutch oven (stovetop) and put that in the oven. I cooked them covered for about 20 minutes and the rest of the time was uncovered. This combination of things made it's own juice/sauce and it was sooo good. Also I didn't have bay leaves so I left that out...didn't miss them at all. Thanks for this recipe && I don't even like Pot Roast but this was good!

Chinese Chicken Fried Rice II

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2012
Loved this recipe and loved the fact it was so simple. Did not use egg b/c I don't like it but I make fried rice a lot, the difference this time is that I actually heated my BROWN RICE normally and then I put it in the freezer and let it get cold. I also used much more soy sauce & this recipe was great, even though very similar to the recipe that I currently use. Got compliments from a guest on this meal!

This recipe was good but maybe I would add more garlic next time, however it smelled great in the oven. Will be making again!

Delicious Egg Salad for Sandwiches

Reviewed: May 1, 2011
Tastes great much better than my original recipe. I actually used Dijon mustard instead of yellow && it tastes much better WITH the green onions! Love this recipe!!

Baked Chicken Wings

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2010
I loved this recipe, and so did everyone else. The only mistake was coating the pan with the olive oil. They make the chicken stick to pan, or it was probably the fact that I used aluminum foil under the pan.

Easy Cajun Jambalaya

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2010
I loved this recipe, this was my first attempt at Jambalaya w/o a box start and it turned out great!! Everyone loved it, I did add shrimp to it and just cooked the rice separately all together. The rice was not mixed in until plates were made, so NO problems w/ soggy rice! Will definitely make again. After you chop up everything it's pretty simple from there...

Beaufort Stew

Reviewed: May 6, 2010
Yea, I also cooked the potatoes for about 20 minutes before, added shrimp and corn last. Substituted Old Bay or Pappy's Seasoning (thought I had Old Bay but didn't), also added Onion Powder, Salt, Pepper, No Salt Seasoning and this turned out GREATTT! My boyfriend (who is picky by the way) loved it and told me to definitely save that recipe, so this was definitely a biggggg Hit!

Potato Salad with Smoked Sausage

Reviewed: Apr. 4, 2010
Made this last night and it was really good, however I didn't have all of the ingredients. Subbed the Dijon Mustard for regular mustard and worked perfectly. Also, I would say I boiled my potatoes about 20 minutes on high and had to season them as well...also used more dressing, but this recipe turned out great..

Creamy Au Gratin Potatoes

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2010
I tried this recipe and it turned out pretty nice. I think however, you should add that it takes the mix about 15-20 minutes to thicken properly and it's not going to be super thick. Also, I agree with a previous review that this sauce on Macaroni & cheese would be perfect, many said the potatoes needed more seasoning, even though I added moe than the recipe called for & the cheese was over-powering but overall it was great! Next time will make the sauce with some pasta for Mac & Cheese!!!

Grandmother's Buttermilk Cornbread

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2010
This was a great recipe, the only difference is that I used Lowfat Milk instead of Buttermilk, but it still tastes great! It's a darker color but tastes just like cornbread!! It's sooo goood!
