It is a good recipe, however... I followed the recipe but noticed after 6 hours of simmering the beans had disappeared and there was no ham viable. I reheated it the next day and added two cans of beans and will buy some ham sliced and cube it up when I heat up.\again. Perhaps I will simmer the soup and stop the cooking when the beans are fork tender and use half the ham cubed and add the remaining half before serving just to heat the ham cubes up. My husband and I loved the soup but it was more of a puree after following the cooking times.
